About the Role

Bitdeer is seeking a Finance Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Business Partner, to support U.S. operations and infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the U.S. Finance lead, this hands-on role will own budgets, forecasts, and project analysis, translating operating plans into revenue, profitability, capital expenditure, and cash flow projections. The manager will partner with business leaders and global Finance teams to challenge assumptions and recommend investment priorities and spending decisions.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Own annual budgets, long-range plans, and rolling forecasts for assigned businesses, entities, and projects, integrating revenue, operating expenses, headcount, capital expenditures, and cash flow.
  • Business Partnership: Serve as the Finance business partner to project, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and business development leaders; translate operating milestones and commercial assumptions into financial plans and actionable recommendations.
  • Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models linking power capacity, energization and deployment dates, utilization, pricing, operating costs, and capital spending to profitability, cash requirements, and investment returns.
  • Project & Spend Review: Review project budgets, contractual commitments, equipment deposits, and milestone payment schedules with business owners; distinguish committed and discretionary spending and assess opportunities to defer or phase payments.
  • Variance & Performance Analysis: Analyze actual results against budgets and forecasts, explain key drivers and risks, and recommend corrective actions. Partner with Accounting on accruals, expense classification, and capital expenditure tracking to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Scenario & Sensitivity Modeling: Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses for project delays, changes in utilization or pricing, power costs, equipment costs, and financing assumptions; assess implications for liquidity and returns.
  • Executive Reporting: Prepare monthly business reviews, management dashboards, and executive presentations covering financial performance, project progress, forecast changes, and decisions required.
  • Treasury & Capital Support: Partner with Treasury and the financing team to provide reliable project cash flow forecasts, funding requirements, and supporting analyses for financing evaluations and diligence.
  • Systems Implementation: Support planning-system implementation, including requirements gathering, account and dimension mapping, data validation, user acceptance testing, documentation, and business-user training.
  • Process Improvement: Improve planning processes, reporting consistency, controls, and data quality across Excel, ERP, procurement, and planning systems; establish clear ownership of assumptions and a regular forecasting cadence.
How You Will Stand Out
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
  • Experience: Typically 8 or more years of progressive experience in FP&A, business finance, corporate finance, or a related analytical role, with independent ownership of planning cycles and business partnerships.
  • Financial Planning: Demonstrated experience managing budgets, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and financial models covering P&L, capital expenditures, and cash flow.
  • Accounting Principles: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, accruals, working capital, and the distinction between expense recognition and cash payment timing.
  • Modeling & Evaluation: Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis and investment evaluation using metrics such as NPV, IRR, and payback.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to challenge assumptions constructively, influence business stakeholders, and turn complex analyses into clear recommendations for senior management.
  • Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, communication, and project management skills; ability to work independently across multiple priorities in a fast-moving, global environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting data centers, AI or cloud infrastructure, power projects, Bitcoin mining, or other capital-intensive technology businesses.
  • Experience with project-level economics, construction and equipment payment schedules, capacity planning, and investment business cases.
  • Experience with Anaplan, Oracle EPM, Hyperion Planning, or comparable planning platforms, including implementation or process improvement projects.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP, BI analytics, or other reporting and data analysis tools.

Success will be measured by timely and reliable forecasts, clear visibility into project spending and cash requirements, actionable business insights, stronger accountability for financial assumptions, and effective support for investment decisions and planning-system adoption.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
