Job Description

The Finance Analyst, Business Analytics is responsible for providing timely and accurate insights into the organization’s financial performance, empowering the business with actionable decision support tools, and keeping stakeholders informed of perceived impacts. As a revenue subject matter expert, this position will work to quantify, analyze, and summarize comprehensive data sets, develop financial models and work with the Director, Business Analytics on revenue projections and valuations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:      

  • Assists in the financial modeling, performance tracking, budgeting support and ad-hoc research for Finance, Accounting, Payor Contracting, and Revenue Cycle Management functions
  • Demonstrates ability to quantify, recognize patterns, and draw conclusions from large data sets and effectively communicate results in a concise manner
  • Identifies and analyzes payment anomalies to assess risk and recommend improvements to increase accuracy of revenue projections and yield
  • Gathers insights and presents monthly financial performance results for clinical and operations leadership
  • Provides insight into payer and operational trends and statistics while highlighting opportunities and risks to the business
  • Works collaboratively with business unit partners to assess reporting needs and solutions
  • Acts as a subject matter expert with ability to provide concise insight to business leaders for timely decision support or recent industry event updates
  • Other duties as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven success with reporting, analytics and business operations
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry
  • Independently driven, with the capabilities to manage projects on business strategies, and achieve department goals, objectives and initiatives
  • Superior time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Undergraduate degree (MBA or masters preferred) in Business, Finance/Accounting, Economics, Informatics, Statistics or equivalent courses
  • At least two years of reporting, analytics and/or business operations, preferably in the healthcare/provider space  
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills including Advanced MS Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot), Word and PowerPoint
  • Data modelling and experience with dimensional data sources strongly preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 15 pounds
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform the job.
  • May have to travel up to 5%  

Salary Range: $59,364-$109,823.40

Salary Range:

$59,364.00 - $109,823.00

Salary may be determined on several factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, education, geographical location and requirements stated in job description.
