Love helping people at law firms get the most out of Filevine? Have experience with California Workers’ Compensation law firms?

This is a unique opportunity for you to use your legal background and focus it on technology.

We built a best practice template in Filevine specifically designed for California Workers’ Compensation firms and are helping these firms transition from legacy systems like MerusCase to Filevine. This role will support firms as they go live with Filevine. You might be a great fit for this position if you have experience working in a law firm as a case manager, paralegal, attorney, IT support staff or law clerk. If you have developed a passion for technology and have focused on making processes more efficient and optimizing workflows, this role could help supercharge law firms.
You’re an ideal candidate if you have:

  • Hands-on experience with California Workers’ Compensation case management
  • Familiarity with MerusCase (preferred) and Filevine (a must)
  • An interest in designing, improving, and automating business processes
  • Strong skills in reporting, integrations, and legal tech platforms like Filevine, Lead Docket, DOMO/Periscope, Workato
  • Familiarity with California Workers’ Comp EAMES JETfile and platforms such as Gemini Legal
About the role:
  • No more cases to manage. Instead of working “in” the business, you get to work “on” the business.
  • Enjoy continually learning more about Filevine and the technology that connects to it.
  • Opportunity to develop expertise in reporting, Lead Docket, Excel, Domo/Periscope, Workato, and even QuickBooks Online.

This role requires that you enjoy designing and improving business processes. It requires you to think creatively, ask good questions, and then have the technical skills to build out the business and train people to use it.

We work as a team
Each Optimizer (aka Vineskills team member and Filevine expert) is the primary point of contact for a handful of law firms. We have regular client check-in calls where we aim to listen, ask good questions, screen share some examples and end with clear priorities for the work to be done. Typically there are two Optimizers on the call in order to have two perspectives and help with taking notes.

Why work with Vineskills?

  • Salary Range: $74,400 - $150,000+ per year based on experience and qualifications.
  • Bonus: Opportunity to earn a monthly bonus based on the amount of client work you decide to take on. When you get better and faster at your job, you can increase your pay.
  • Employee Ownership: As part of our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), employees receive company shares at no cost, building equity in the business over time. Recent contributions have ranged from 30% to 35% of an employee’s annual salary.
  • Additionally, we also offer a 401k plan
  • Health & Wellness
    • Medical, dental, and vision benefits are offered through various plans, and 70% of the cost is paid by the employer. This includes up to full family coverage with HSA and FSA options.

  • Paid Time Off
    • Three weeks of PTO and three days of sick leave, expanding to four weeks of PTO in year four.
    • 12 paid holidays and a growing tradition of a holiday slowdown between Christmas and New Years
  • You will own a shiny new Mac or Windows laptop after being employed with us for one year.
  • 100% remote position (ideally in California) with flexible work hours.
  • Opportunity to grow your legal-finance-tech career in a fast-growing company.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
