About the roleAs a Web Engineer, you will:
- Build and maintain our website and our supporting web infrastructure, ensuring we have a stable, scalable, and flexible foundation for launches and telling our story.
- Partner closely with designers and marketers not just to implement work, but to actively shape and elevate web experiences from concept through production
- Improve performance, accessibility, and SEO, helping us create a polished, high-quality site that reflects the craft of the Hex brand.
- Create delightful interactive experiences through thoughtful animations, micro-interactions, and advanced frontend techniques that surprise and engage users while reinforcing our brand identity.
- Contribute meaningfully to visual and interaction decisions, bringing strong taste and frontend craft to every surface
- Support personalization and experimentation, enabling our GTM team to move quickly while maintaining technical rigor.
- Establish and maintain high implementation standards, including code quality, documentation, testing, and performance benchmarks.
You’ll be joining a small but growing team with meaningful ownership and autonomy. Your work will have direct visibility and impact across the company.
About youYou might be a great fit if you have:
- 5–8+ years of experience in frontend engineering, ideally working on marketing sites and growth-oriented web surfaces
- Fluency in Javascript/Typescript, React, and modern web frameworks
- Experience working with a CMS, and comfort building reusable components and page-building systems
- Strong visual judgment and design sensibility. You care deeply about typography, layout, motion, and interaction quality
- A passion for performance, accessibility, and well-structured code
- Experience working cross-functionally with design, marketing, or growth teams
- A habit of self-direction, ownership, and proactive communication
- Curiosity about how Hex helps data teams do their best work (and excitement to help tell that story)
- The ability to push on design decisions, not just implement them. You can identify when something feels off and improve it.

The salary range for this role is: $175,000 - $250,000
The salary range shown may be a reflection of additional factors such as geographical location and skill ranges/levels we’re open to. Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process, taking into account factors like leaving room for growth, internal fairness & parity, your demonstrated skills, and the depth of your experience.
