Empower transformation by becoming a driving force of change at MAS. We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to conduct continuous improvements and identify bottlenecks, select low performing operators whilst, carrying out time, capacity and production studies in order to enhance efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify bottlenecks, select low performing Operators whilst, carrying out time, capacity and production studies in order to enhance efficiencies thereby, improving productivity.

  • Prepare the skill development plan for Operators and follow-up to ensure the required skill levels are achieved whilst, getting involved in Star grading system and verify Team Members skills for star grading.

  • Ensure adherence to organizational standards such as: SOPs, compliance standards, health and safety and 5S in day to day activities whilst, leading MOS initiatives such as PDCAs, Kaizen and other special projects within the team.

  • Check the line loading plan and identify new, repeat styles in relevant modules whilst, preparing for new styles by carrying out the following activities in a timely manner:

    • Prepare Machine requirements (approximate) one month before the PSD, according to the finalized layout and Method Study feedback, and communicate to the Mechanical department 

    • Recheck and confirm operation breakdown and thread consumption whilst, identifying required special attachments 

    • Participate in PP meetings and communicate about thread consumption, SMV changes, labour requirements, pre-setting requirements and pre-training requirements.

    • Select Team Members for the lay out, with Team Leader for optimum use of skills and to ensure that the selected Team Members are multi-skilled

  • Facilitate bulk production for new styles by carrying out the following activities in a timely manner: 

     

    • Conduct a lay out review by stimulating the layout with relevant Team Leaders, Method Study team and Mechanics 

    • Analyze line performance against calculated Standard Minute Values whilst, re-balancing lines to optimize the output 

    • Improve handling methods and work-place arrangements.

  • Ensure smooth Style Change Over and drive team to achieve set targets by performing the following activities: 

     

    • Follow-up on machine pre-settings, pre-training prior to the commencement of production by coordinating with the relevant departments, teams

    • Monitor the line feeding process and drive teams to achieve efficiency targets in first 3 days.

    • Study each Operator and do Yamazumi graphs for 2nd, 5th, 7th and 10th days after line feeding

  • Organize on the job training programs on a weekly basis by coordinating with the IE Executives and identify operators who face any technical related issues thereby directing them to relevant training school instructors to obtain necessary skills, knowledge.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Degree in Textile Engineering or Physical Science or NDT (National Diploma in Technology).
  • Minimum 2 -3 years' experience in manufacturing in Apparel sector.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Engineering and tool of costing: General Sewing Data (GSD).
  • GSD License is an added advantage.
  • Lean knowledge and people management skills.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
