General Overview  

As part of the Commercial Leadership Team of L-Acoustics, the Director of Strategic Market Development, Global plays a pivotal role as a strategic architect who will craft and execute our commercial growth strategy, drive robust business development initiatives, and spearhead our expansion into new vertical markets.  

 

The Director of Strategic Market Development, Global will be focusing on building global growth and penetration strategies across existing and new vertical markets, developing new commercial offerings, and being a key contributor to the company’s business models and general go-to-market strategy.  

 

With a keen eye for identifying and capitalizing on emerging market opportunities and a passion for transformative growth, the Executive Director of Strategic Market Development will play a pivotal role in redefining our market presence and achieving sustainable, long-term success. 

 

The Director of Strategic Market Development, Global will manage the following teams: Business Development, Creative Engagement and Market Intelligence 

Responsibilities 

Lead Business Performance: 

  • Contribute to the development of new opportunities in key vertical markets and ensuring consistent year-over-year growth through strategic market development initiatives and successful closing of key projects 

  • Meet assigned targets for revenue, market share, growth and other key financial performance objectives for key vertical markets. 

  • Maintain commercial sizing and SWOT analysis, competitive analysis, and industry trend monitoring for each key vertical market. 

  • Develop mutually beneficial collaborations with creatives, architects, high level decision makers, and premium brands to bolster the company’s visibility and positioning.  

  • Investigate and review factors impacting business performance and implement ongoing improvements. 

  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction (NPS). 

  • Lead the performance management system (KPI) and key results supporting the group’s objectives (OKR) for the Market  Development organization. 

  • Provide regular business updates to C-level executives and the board of directors. 

Lead Go-to-Market Strategy and Execution: 

  • Develop strong networks with key end user groups, influencers, and decision-makers in the Pro Audio industry and beyond. 

  • Develop global partnerships to accelerate market penetration with select end-user groups without disrupting commercial sales channels  

  • Identify sales channel gaps to address key vertical markets and work with Sales team to qualify and enroll relevant commercial partners 

  • Identify, follow and support closing of key projects with Sales and Application teams through end user and influencers management 

  • Responsible for content strategy and development for all market and non-expert collaterals content in collaboration with Product Management and Communication teams 

 

Design Long-Term Revenue Growth Strategy: 

  • Develop a multi-year, sustainable revenue growth plan through innovative commercial models as well as existing and new market growth 

  • Identify high business growth areas with Global Director of Sales and Business Development, including regions, verticals, and sales channels. 

  • Identify, secure, and manage strategic end user partnerships for new Market opportunities. 

  • Expand business opportunities beyond the current market by transposing company success and products to new industries. 

  • Develop and lead 5 year roadmap for each vertical market 

  • Participate in the expansion of sales channels, including go-to-market and digital commerce strategies by ensuring alignment with key go-to-market market strategy . 

 

Create a Culture of Success: 

  • Provide leadership to the Strategic Market development management team (Business Development - Market Intelligence - Creative Engagement), fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high performance, and ethical behavior. 

  • Recommend and oversee compensation and incentive programs that motivate the business development team to achieve their targets. 

 

Build a Future-Proof Organization: 

  • Accountable for effective organization design, including resource deployment. 

  • Align the Strategic Market Development organization and objectives with the company's strategy. 

  • Lead organizational change initiatives by continuously assessing the need for change and championing these initiatives. 

  • Implement infrastructure and systems to support the success of the Market Development function. 

 

Build a Prospective Business Vision: 

  • Monitor changes in the industry and leverage them for business opportunities. 

  • Maintain a deep knowledge of connected industry trends. 

  • Provide business strategy and thought leadership at major industry events, conferences, or trade shows. 

 

Act as a Transverse Player, Change Agent, and Inspiring Leader: 

  • Find and engage resources across functions and organizations, ensuring coordination. 

  • Work closely with the Marketing, Communication, and Application Project teams to achieve revenue and business objectives. 

  • Actively participate in executive committee meetings, corporate strategic planning, resource planning, and budgeting. 

  • Support the achievement of strategic objectives critical to other functional areas within the Group. 

 

Collaboration with Sales & Business Development: 

  • Work in close collaboration with the Director of Sales & Sales Operations to ensure alignment of strategies and objectives. 

  • Identify gaps in sales channels and suggest relevant partners 

  • Maintain distinct responsibilities while fostering a cooperative and synergistic relationship to drive overall business success. 

  • Both roles report directly to the CEO, ensuring clear communication and unified direction at the executive level. 

 

Collaboration with Application: 

  • Work closely with Global director of Application, vertical market to ensure alignment of go to market strategy and execution   

  • Ensure close commercial and technical communication and collaboration to close key projects 

 

Collaboration with Product Management 

  • Work closely with Product Management leadership to relay product feedback and trends from key market players and end users 

  • Develop all collaterals for sales channels, end-users and decision makers relevant to each key vertical market
