About the Role

In this role, you’ll serve as a strategic partner to a senior technical leader, helping them stay focused on building and scaling the favorited application while you manage priorities, communications, and operational details.

This position requires someone who understands how engineering organizations operate, can anticipate the needs of technical leaders, and brings structure, accountability, and clarity to complex workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex calendar and inbox for the Co-Founder / CTO, prioritizing technical, product, and company-wide initiatives.

  • Act as an accountability partner by tracking action items, deadlines, and follow-ups across engineering and cross-functional teams.

  • Coordinate engineering leadership meetings, technical reviews, and company-wide syncs, including agenda prep and follow-through.

  • Support office operations and handle detailed travel planning for a senior technical executive.

  • Partner closely with engineering, product, and design teams to support planning, communication, and execution.

  • Prepare materials for meetings, technical reviews, and board or investor sessions as needed.

  • Anticipate needs, unblock issues, and proactively improve day-to-day efficiency for the CTO and their org.

What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience supporting senior executives, including previous experience supporting technical leaders (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, or similar), ideally in a start-up environment.

  • Strong understanding of engineering teams, technical organizations, and how product and infrastructure teams operate.

  • Proven ability to manage complex schedules and priorities in high-growth, fast-moving environments.

  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working with highly technical stakeholders.

  • High attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

  • Ability to operate independently, anticipate needs, and drive accountability without constant direction.

Salary & Benefits

Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000

Benefits Include:

  • Unlimited PTO to prioritize work-life balance.

  • 401(k) plan to invest in your future.

  • Comprehensive health insurance to support your well-being.

  • Paid company holidays for time to recharge.

  • Competitive salary that values your expertise and contributions.

Where You’ll Work: This is a full-time, on-site position in Santa Monica.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
