About the Role

As the Events & Partnerships Manager, you will help bring Jade Leaf Matcha to life through culturally relevant brand partnerships, high-impact consumer activations, and shopper marketing programs. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role manages three primary areas: executing strategic brand collaborations, with a particular focus on retail product collaborations; coordinating Jade Leaf's tentpole events and activation calendar; and supporting shopper marketing programs that strengthen Jade Leaf's visibility at shelf. Working within established brand and budget parameters, the role will help drive awareness and consideration of matcha by building positive category and brand affinity, introducing Jade Leaf to new audiences and occasions, positioning Jade Leaf as the authority on quality matcha, and leveraging cross-category collaborations to support incremental retail visibility and secondary placements.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify, evaluate, and execute high-impact collaborations with complementary brands across food & beverage, wellness, fitness, beauty, fashion, hospitality, entertainment, and lifestyle.
  • Manage retail product collaborations from initial partner identification and concept development through commercialization and launch, coordinating closely with sales, product development, operations, creative, and external partners.
  • Manage Jade Leaf's annual consumer activation calendar, including planning and execution of tentpole moments such as National Matcha Day.
  • Plan and execute high-visibility consumer experiences including pop-ups, sampling programs, festivals, cultural events, retail activations, cafe experiences, and other experiential brand moments.
  • Develop mutually beneficial marketing partnerships that introduce Jade Leaf and the matcha category to new audiences, channels, communities, and consumption occasions.
  • Manage partner relationships and coordinate integrated activation plans, ensuring each collaboration is supported across social, PR, influencers, retail, eCommerce, content, and experiential touchpoints where appropriate.
  • Manage program budgets, timelines, agencies, vendors, contracts, and cross-functional workstreams within approved parameters to ensure activations and partnerships are delivered on strategy, on budget, and on time.
  • Track, analyze, and report on partnership, activation, and shopper marketing performance across reach, engagement, earned media, trial, retail execution, incremental sales, and brand-building KPIs; capture learnings to continuously improve future programs.
  • Support shopper marketing strategy and execution in partnership with Sales, including in-store activations, retail displays, point-of-sale materials, secondary merchandising, and retailer-specific programming.

Requirements

 What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, , or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in brand marketing, partnerships, experiential marketing, shopper marketing, or a related CPG / consumer brand role.
  • Proven experience developing and executing brand partnerships, collaborations, events, or experiential programs that drive measurable consumer and business impact.
  • Strong understanding of retail marketing and shopper activation, with experience supporting displays, point-of-sale, secondary merchandising, and retailer-specific programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate strategic partners, develop compelling partnership concepts, negotiate terms in partnership with leadership and Legal, and manage programs from idea through execution.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex, cross-functional initiatives, external partners, agencies, budgets, and timelines simultaneously.
  • Strong strategic and creative judgment, with a passion for culture, consumer trends, food & beverage, wellness, and identifying authentic ways for brands to show up in consumers' lives.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and build trusted relationships with external partners.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and willingness to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends as needed for activations, partner meetings, and key events.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
