Purpose

The Events Manager will plan, execute, and continuously improve Divergent’s global events and experiential marketing programs. Reporting to the Communications & Marketing Director, this role is responsible for delivering high-impact, detail-driven experiences that reinforce Divergent’s leadership in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and defense. The ideal candidate is highly organized, execution-focused, and comfortable operating in complex, technical, and regulated environments.

Role

Event Strategy Execution

  • Execute the company’s events roadmap in alignment with brand, communications, and business development priorities. Translate strategic objectives into well-run, measurable event programs.

Industry Events & Trade Shows

  • Plan and manage Divergent’s presence at key industry trade shows, conferences, and forums across automotive, aerospace, and defense sectors, including booth strategy, logistics, messaging coordination, and on-site execution.

HQ & Executive Events

  • Lead the execution of company-hosted events such as customer briefings, executive dinners, investor events, product demonstrations, and technical showcases.

End-to-End Event Management

  • Own all operational aspects of events including timelines, budgets, vendor sourcing, contracts, logistics, travel coordination, shipping, production schedules, and on-site management.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner closely with communications, business development, engineering, operations, and executive leadership to align event content, speakers, demos, and objectives.

Vendor & Agency Management:

  • Manage external vendors, production partners, exhibit houses, and event agencies to ensure high-quality execution, brand consistency, and cost efficiency.\

Compliance & Practical Considerations:

  • Ensure events align with internal policies, confidentiality requirements, ITAR/export controls, and customer or government-related protocols as applicable.

On-Site Leadership:

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for events, resolving issues in real time and ensuring a seamless experience for attendees, partners, and executives.

Performance Measurement & Reporting:

  • Track event KPIs including attendance, engagement, lead generation, and qualitative outcomes. Provide post-event reporting and insights to inform future planning.
Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience managing complex B2B events, trade shows, or experiential marketing programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events simultaneously with tight timelines and high attention to detail.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and vendor management skills.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-expectation environments with senior leadership involvement.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours during events as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, advanced manufacturing, or other highly technical industries.
  • Familiarity with large-scale industry events (e.g. trade shows, defense expos, air shows, OEM forums).
  • Experience supporting executive-level or customer-facing events with high visibility and sensitivity.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with strong ownership mindset.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and solve problems calmly under pressure.
Work Environment
  • In office presence in Torrance, CA.
  • Frequent collaboration with communications, business development, engineering, operations, and executive teams.
  • Fast-paced, execution-driven environment with regular travel and on-site event leadership responsibilities.
Compensation

At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at level S06 as evaluated through our interview process. 

  • S06 / Events Manager: $127,260 - $174,960
