We’re financing the future of energy

Crux is the capital platform for the clean economy. We modernize capital raising and deployment for clean energy and critical infrastructure with solutions across advisory, investments, technology, and intelligence.

Our team of 100+ is composed of experts in energy, tax, finance, government, and technology. We have raised $77 million in capital from some of the best investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others. These funds are joined by strategic investors including Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, and OMERS Ventures.

An inflection point in American energy and manufacturing

Energy demand is growing for the first time in decades, driving an urgent need for more affordable and reliable electricity. More electricity requires new clean energy infrastructure and strong domestic supply chains for minerals and components — as well as large amounts of capital.

Traditional project financing is opaque, fragmented, and analog. At Crux, we’re changing that. Through unmatched insights and expertise, white-glove service, purpose-built tools, and risk underwriting, we power a more prosperous, clean, and secure energy future.

We are scaling quickly and looking for team members who are eager to combine deep expertise with an AI- and tech-forward mindset.
The opportunity

We’re seeking a highly organized Events Lead to support the design, execution, and scaling of a high-impact events program that strengthens Crux’s brand, builds lasting industry relationships, and drives measurable business results. Reporting to the Director of Events, this role is focused on executing and operating Crux’s events program across conferences, owned events, partner activations, and webinars.

You’ll play a key role in delivering polished, on-brand experiences that connect with our target audiences across the clean energy finance industry — from intimate executive dinners to multi-day enterprise gatherings. This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented operator who thrives in a fast-paced, scrappy environment, has strong vendor coordination and project management skills, and is excited to work at the intersection of climate, technology, and finance.

Key responsibilities

Conference and trade show management

  • Own end-to-end logistics for Crux’s presence at 50+ events annually, including booth design and production, vendor coordination, shipping, and team attendance.

  • Manage all registrations, speaking submissions, and related deadlines to help maximize visibility and engagement.

  • Execute pre- and post-event processes for meeting scheduling, lead capture, follow-up, and ROI tracking.

Branded event production

  • Support the planning and execution of Crux-branded experiences, ranging from intimate executive dinners to large-scale multi-day events.

  • Coordinate venue sourcing, vendor logistics, and on-site execution in partnership with the Director of Events.

  • Ensure all experiences align with Crux’s brand voice and high aesthetic standards.

Co-hosted partner events

  • Support collaboration with strategic partners to produce co-hosted events (dinners, happy hours, workshops, etc.) that drive joint value.

  • Help coordinate shared logistics, timelines, and post-event follow-up to strengthen partnerships.

Swag and gifting management

  • Coordinate the design, production, and distribution of Crux-branded merchandise and client gifts with an eye for detail, quality, and style.

  • Manage multiple vendors to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and strong brand representation.

Event operations and process improvement

  • Help maintain and improve the event operations playbook.

  • Track budgets, timelines, vendor contracts, and performance metrics across events.

  • Support adoption of tools and systems that improve efficiency and attendee experience.

Required qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in events or experiential marketing in high-growth or B2B settings.

  • Experience within the finance or clean energy industries with familiarity with their stakeholders and event landscapes.

  • Based in NYC or DC with the ability to travel ~10% of the time.

  • Experience coordinating vendors across multiple event components (AV, catering, production, etc.).

  • Experience working cross functionally with marketing and sales teams.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and maintain impeccable attention to detail and deadlines.

  • Strong taste and design sensibility with attention to brand presentation.

  • Comfortable supporting experiences that delight attendees and align with strategic goals.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

  • Comfortable tracking performance metrics and supporting reporting.

  • Experience with leveraging AI to streamline & enhance event planning processes

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Hubspot and event management platforms

What we bring

  • Base Compensation: Base salary between between $125,000 - $145,000 depending on leveling, not including equity value or company wide bonus.

  • Company wide bonus: $10,000 - $40,000 tied to revenue goals.

  • Competitive equity in the form of stock options.

  • Fully covered Employee Healthcare benefits, including partial dependent coverage.

  • Remote-first company with optional offices in NYC and DC and quarterly team and company wide offsite meetings.

  • $77mm venture capital raised, a phenomenal team, and mission driven work.

  • Additionally, we have raised a $500mm debt facility from Nuveen, allowing us to co-invest and deploy our own capital in support of the clean economy.

Our values

Care for each other: We want to work on a team where people support each other - in their growth, in their work, and towards our shared mission. When we do that, we have fun.

Build and improve rapidly: The thing we can best control is our pace of learning and pace of execution. We can’t control the market, regulators, or what competitors do. One of the best ways to move rapidly is to focus, and consistently ask ourselves if we are prioritizing the right things and executing them as best as possible.

Focus unremittingly on customers: Developers, manufacturers & their advisors are doing critical work to accelerate renewable energy development. Our obligation is to them first, and we must keep their needs front & center in everything we do.

Demonstrate ownership: We are all owners of Crux. This is our team, our company, our product and we show that to each other.

Convene a team that reflects the breadth of experiences in the country: We expect everyone to actively help us build a team where people of all backgrounds can thrive. This applies in hiring, people policies, how we interact - and connects closely with caring for each other.

We provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by law.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
