We’re looking for a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented Events & Engagement Manager to lead MongoDB’s startup event strategy and strengthen our presence across the startup and VC ecosystem.
This is a highly execution-focused role, perfect for someone who thrives on building impactful, experimental event experiences, managing end-to-end logistics, and engaging directly with founders and investors. You’ll own the planning and execution of 20+ startup-focused events annually—including hackathons, demo nights, founder dinners, and networking activations at major conferences. Additionally, you will help support MongoDB Ventures portfolio companies, ensuring they get access to MongoDB’s network, technical resources, and go-to-market opportunities.
This is a high-visibility role within MongoDB’s startup ecosystem efforts, working closely with Marketing, Sales, and Partnerships to drive engagement and adoption among early-stage startups.
Position Expectations:- Lead the planning and execution of 20+ high-impact, uniquely curated startup events each year—from hackathons and demo nights to intimate founder gatherings
- Own end-to-end event execution, including logistics, budgeting, vendor management, and on-site coordination, to deliver seamless and memorable experiences
- Champion MongoDB Ventures portfolio companies by ensuring priority access to MongoDB events, resources, and support
- Evolve and elevate the MongoDB for Startups program by identifying new ways to add value for founders and driving awareness across the startup ecosystem
- Cultivate strong relationships across the startup and VC ecosystem to drive deeper connections and stay ahead of emerging trends
- Collaborate cross-functionally to amplify MongoDB’s startup presence through integrated marketing, social media, and community engagement
- 3-6 years of experience in event planning, startup marketing, ecosystem development, or VC platform roles
- Experience planning and executing in-person events, including managing logistics, vendors, and on-site operations
- Deep understanding of the startup and venture ecosystem—you know what resonates with founders and investors
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused—able to manage multiple projects at once
- Must be based in San Francisco, CA, with the ability to modify a traditional workweek to attend events in evenings and weekends, as well as travel occasionally

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package.
