We are seeking an Experienced and Passionate Tech Lead to join our Platform API Team.

The group delivers cutting-edge workflows and automation, enabling millions of users to work smarter and more effectively. With over 2 billion automated workflows executed monthly, our scalable, user-focused solutions empower organizations to achieve their goals effortlessly.

This pivotal role involves managing and optimizing our Platform API, which serves as both the open platform gateway supporting our entire app infrastructure and the internal engine facilitating communication between all our products and code services as part of the Open Platform group whose mission is to make monday.com extensible and open for external developers. We need someone with a knack for devising creative solutions to intricate challenges, including performance enhancements, infrastructure improvements, and developer experience optimizations, all at a crazy scale since the platform API has over 60% of all monday.com traffic!

In this role, you'll leverage your deep technical expertise and sound judgment to steer critical projects, provide architectural direction, and elevate the work of those around you. This role is ideal for engineers who excel at using their technical expertise to drive impact—both through their work and by guiding and inspiring others to achieve excellence.


About The Role

Your responsibility

  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable and maintainable APIs that cater to both internal and external developers
  •  Identify and implement strategies to enhance API performance, ensuring swift and reliable data exchanges across platforms at scale
  •  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade and maintain an infrastructure that supports our APIs, focusing on scalability, security, and monitoring
  •  Streamline the development process by creating tools, documentation, and frameworks that facilitate seamless integration and usage of our APIs
  • Work closely with other engineering teams, product managers, and other stakeholders throughout the company to align API functionalities with business objectives and user needs
  •  Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Requirements
  • Strong proven technical skills and a passion for developing products that people love and use every day
  • Technical leadership experience with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining large-scale systems
  • In-depth knowledge of GraphQL and/or federated APIs is an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to tackle complex problems with innovative solutions, particularly in performance and infrastructure domains
  • Team player with excellent communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively
  • A strong desire to build software that provides a great experience. Building Infrastructure that is not only scalable but also easy to maintain, monitor, and extend
