Presidio, Where Teamwork and Innovation Shape the Future
At Presidio, we're at the forefront of a global technology revolution, transforming industries through cutting-edge digital solutions and next-generation AI. We empower businesses - and their internal customers - to achieve more through innovation, automation, and intelligent insights.

    The Role

Presidio seeks an accomplished Senior Director to lead the Delivery function of our Data Center practice within the Modern Platforms organization. This executive role is accountable for end-to-end delivery of compute, storage, data protection, hybrid cloud connectivity, GPU/AI infrastructure, and related solutions across Presidio's national customer base. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction while building and scaling a high-performing delivery team of Practice Leads, Project Engineers, and Implementation Specialists. Close collaboration with sales, solutions architecture, and technology partners is essential to ensure that every engagement is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Responsibilities Include:

    Delivery Leadership & Execution

    • Own end-to-end delivery management for the Data Center practice, overseeing people, processes, partner resources, and performance metrics to drive consistent, high-quality outcomes.
    • Serve as the primary executive escalation point for critical delivery risks, project issues, and high-stakes customer situations requiring senior intervention.
    • Partner with Sales and Solutions Architecture teams to ensure offerings are market-ready, accurately scoped, and executable at enterprise scale prior to signature.
    • Ensure all projects meet commitments for timeline, budget, and quality standards through rigorous resource alignment, partner strategy, and enforcement of delivery standards.
    • Establish repeatable, scalable delivery frameworks for large-scale data center deployments, colocation facility builds, and multi-site national infrastructure rollouts.
    • Define and maintain service delivery standards for physical infrastructure, including structured cabling (copper and fiber optic), rack and stack hardware installation, rack configuration and labeling, and physical layer testing and certification.
    • Maintain post-signature delivery readiness by proactively managing resource capacity, partner engagement, and subcontractor performance.

    Practice & Strategy Alignment

    • Collaborate with GTM teams to define service offerings, branding strategies, and industry positioning that accelerate practice growth and market presence.
    • Work with clients to develop strategic infrastructure roadmaps over a 3–10-year horizon, creating scalable, resilient environments aligned with modern data workflows.
    • Perform facility assessments and data center site due diligence to support informed decisions on infrastructure investment and development.
    • Interface with peer practice areas — including Advisory, Cloud Migration, Intelligent Ops, and Managed Services — to ensure cohesive, integrated solution delivery.
    • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key technology partners: Dell, Cisco, Pure Storage, NetApp, Vast Data, Rubrik, Cohesity, and NVIDIA.

    Compute & Infrastructure Solutions

    • Oversee delivery of enterprise compute solutions encompassing server platforms, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), and virtualization from Dell and Cisco.
    • Direct design and deployment of on-premises and hybrid infrastructure architectures, ensuring seamless connectivity and workload mobility between on-prem data centers and public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
    • Guide technical teams in sizing, configuring, and deploying industry-leading platforms including Dell PowerEdge/PowerFlex, Cisco UCS/HyperFlex, Pure Storage FlashArray/FlashBlade, NetApp ONTAP, and Vast Data Universal Storage.

GPU, NVIDIA & AI Platform Delivery

    • Lead delivery of NVIDIA-based AI infrastructure solutions, including DGX systems, HGX platforms, AI Enterprise software stack, and networking (InfiniBand, NVLink, Spectrum-X Ethernet).
    • Oversee design and deployment of AI-ready data centers engineered for next-generation workloads, addressing challenges such as extreme power density, advanced cooling (liquid, direct-to-chip), high-performance interconnects, and dense GPU/accelerator layouts.
    • Ensure delivery teams are trained and certified on NVIDIA AI platforms and can execute at scale for enterprise and hyperscale customers.
    • Collaborate with Solutions Architecture on GPU cluster design, MLOps infrastructure, and AI factory patterns to ensure deployments are performant, reliable, and supportable post-delivery.

    Data Protection & Resilience

    • Drive delivery of data protection solutions encompassing backup, recovery, ransomware resilience, and disaster recovery to ensure high availability and rapid incident response for customers.
    • Oversee deployment and configuration of enterprise data protection platforms including Rubrik Security Cloud, Cohesity DataProtect, and related backup/recovery solutions.
    • Ensure delivery teams can implement and validate data protection architectures spanning on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
    • Perform or oversee data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), audits, and risk mitigation reviews as part of solution delivery and handover.

    Technical Authority & Solution Development

    • Serve as the recognized technical authority on Data Center technologies, providing guidance to customers, prospects, and internal teams on delivery best practices and architectural standards.
    • Provide engineering leadership and quality review to ensure appropriate scoping, resource utilization, and technical accuracy across all delivery engagements.
    • Support laboratory environments, proof-of-concept initiatives, Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, and standardized Statement of Work (SOW) development.
    • Contribute to RFP/RFI responses, proposals, and solution documentation to support pre-sales efforts.
    • Present practice capabilities and deliver technology education to account teams as new platforms and market opportunities emerge.

    People Leadership & Organizational Development

    • Lead and scale a delivery organization comprising Practice Leads, Project Engineers, Implementation Specialists/Technicians, and partner/subcontractor resources.
    • Define role clarity, establish career progression pathways, and set clear performance expectations across all organizational levels.
    • Build leadership bench strength within the practice to ensure long-term sustainability, growth, and succession readiness.
    • Foster an organizational culture centered on accountability, workplace safety, quality excellence, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development for engineering and technical staff.

Establish clear autonomy frameworks that avoid micromanagement while ensuring accountability and predictable delivery outcomes.

    Required Skills and Professional Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional/military experience
    • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in data center solutions, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level delivery role overseeing large-scale IT systems and services.
    • 5–7 years of experience in service delivery management and developing a project management function.
    • Demonstrated success driving complex, multi-disciplinary IT projects from inception through delivery.
    • Experience managing large delivery budgets and complex programs, balancing competing priorities while ensuring on-time, on-budget execution.

    Technical Skills

    • Deep technical background in data center infrastructure including compute, storage, data protection, and hybrid cloud connectivity architectures.
    • Hands-on delivery experience with key manufacturer platforms: Dell (PowerEdge, PowerFlex, PowerStore), Cisco (UCS, HyperFlex, Nexus), Pure Storage (FlashArray, FlashBlade), NetApp (ONTAP, StorageGRID), Vast Data Universal Storage.
    • Demonstrated experience delivering data protection and cyber resilience solutions: Rubrik Security Cloud, Cohesity DataProtect, and/or equivalent backup/recovery platforms.
    • Practical experience delivering NVIDIA AI infrastructure, including DGX/HGX systems, NVIDIA AI Enterprise, and high-performance GPU networking (InfiniBand, NVLink, Spectrum-X).
    • Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP) and hybrid connectivity patterns.
    • Proficiency with advanced switching architectures, network segmentation, and data center fabric design.
    • Familiarity with cybersecurity risk management and relevant compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS) as they apply to infrastructure delivery.

    Leadership & Communication

    • Proven ability to lead executive-level presentations, solution demonstrations, and whiteboard sessions for CIO/CTO/VP-level audiences.
    • Experience reviewing and authoring Statements of Work (SOW) and Bills of Materials (BOM) for data center, storage, and AI infrastructure solutions.
    • Ability to operate autonomously with minimal direction while driving collaborative team and partner outcomes.
    • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence internally across sales, solutions, and delivery organizations and externally with strategic partners and customers.

    Preferred Skills and Professional Experience:

    • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's in IT) is highly preferred.
    • Industry certifications relevant to data center delivery: NVIDIA-certified infrastructure specialist, Dell or Cisco certification tracks, Pure Storage / NetApp certifications, Rubrik or Cohesity partner certifications.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

    • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
    • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
    • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
    • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
    • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
    • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
