As an Engineering Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading a full-stack product team, delivering meaningful outcomes for our customers. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, and QA to ship high-impact features while building a strong, healthy team. 


What you'll be doing:


Lead Delivery 

  • Own execution of your team’s roadmap with predictable, high-quality delivery 
  • Partner with Product on planning, prioritization, and scope alignment 
  • Remove blockers and create clarity in ambiguous situations 
  • Ensure technical decisions balance speed, scalability, and long-term maintainability 
  • Maintain a high bar for quality, reliability, and customer impact 
  • Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders 

 

Build and Develop the Team 

  • Hire, onboard, and retain exceptional engineers 
  • Provide clear feedback, coaching, and career development support 
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement 
  • Empower senior engineers to grow their technical leadership 

 

We're looking for people who have:

  • 5+ years in software engineering, including 2+ years in engineering management


Interview Process:

  1. Recruiter Screen (30 minutes): You'll meet with PDQ's recruiter to learn more about PDQ and the role, share your background and career goals, ask questions about the team and more.
  2. Hiring Manager Interview (30 minutes): You'll connect with the hiring manager to discuss your relevant experience in more detail, explore expectations for the role, talk through goals, challenges and team dynamics.
  3. Panel Interview (1 hour, 15 minutes): You'll meet with members of PDQ's engineering and product teams to deep dive into your leadership approach, cross-collaboration and examples of how you've demonstrated PDQ's core values of honesty, ownership, collaboration and improvement in your work.
  4. Executive Interview (30 minutes): You'll meet with a Senior leader to discuss broader role impact, long-term goals and alignment with PDQ's mission and vision.
