These include streaming platforms such as Red Bull TV, mobile apps and games, RedBull.com, and other initiatives that keep the brand at the forefront of emerging technologies.

The Engineering Manager, Streaming Apps, leads the development of high-quality native applications for the Apple ecosystem (iOS and tvOS) within Red Bull’s digital product portfolio. This role is responsible for managing both internal and external engineering teams to deliver performant, reliable applications that serve multiple clients through a shared, modular codebase. Working closely with the Director of Engineering for Streaming Apps, this position ensures rapid and predictable weekly releases while maintaining exceptional quality and user satisfaction across all Apple client applications.

The Engineering Manager oversees the implementation of Red Bull’s multi-tenant application architecture, ensuring strong feature flagging, configurability, and reusable components that enable premium digital experiences. This role promotes technical excellence through the adoption of modern Apple frameworks, rapid issue resolution, and 24/7 incident response, while fostering close collaboration with design, QA, and key stakeholders to deliver consistent, outstanding results.

Job Description

TEAM LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT

Manage, mentor, and develop a team of in-house and external software engineers responsible for building premium Apple client applications.

Foster an engineering culture that emphasizes quality, speed, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and acknowledge outstanding contributions.

Uphold high standards of engineering excellence while supporting professional growth and career development.

Ensure effective collaboration and alignment between internal teams and third-party development partners.

TECHNICAL DIRECTION AND ARCHITECTURE

Lead architectural decisions for modular, reusable components within Red Bull’s multi-tenant application framework.

Oversee the implementation of critical features, including in-app payments, video streaming, push notifications, live event scheduling, user authentication, and third-party integrations.

Ensure the adoption of Apple’s latest frameworks, programming languages, and best practices across iOS and tvOS applications.

Provide guidance on implementing performance optimizations, feature flagging, and configurability strategies.

Maintain an appropriate balance between managing technical debt and developing new features.

DELIVERY EXCELLENCE AND PROCESS OPTIMIZATION

Lead weekly deployment cycles that consistently deliver predictable, high-quality outcomes.

Implement efficient development processes that balance speed with quality and maintainability.

Define and track metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate team performance and product quality.

Promote continuous improvement through regular retrospectives, process optimization, and enhancements to tools and systems.

Ensure that comprehensive testing strategies and quality assurance standards are consistently implemented and maintained.

OPERATIONAL RELIABILITY AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

Manage a 24/7/365 on-call support rotation and oversee incident response procedures.

Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts for complex technical issues across Apple client applications.

Collaborate effectively with design, QA, product, and stakeholder teams to align on requirements and expectations.

Provide clear and transparent communication regarding project status, risks, and technical constraints.

Balance competing priorities and resource constraints while maintaining a consistent delivery pace.

Qualifications

10+ years of software development experience, including more than 5 years focused on native Apple applications (iOS and tvOS).

5+ years of engineering management experience leading teams of 5 or more developers.

Strong understanding of Apple’s development ecosystem, including Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and the latest iOS/tvOS frameworks.

Experience in developing and maintaining modular, multi-tenant application architectures.

Proven track record of implementing complex features such as video streaming, authentication, push notifications, and in-app purchases.

Demonstrated ability to manage both internal and external development resources effectively.

Experience with agile development methodologies and weekly deployment cycles.

Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and quality assurance processes.

Excellent troubleshooting and incident management skills.

Ability to balance technical excellence with business requirements and delivery timelines.

Experience integrating multiple third-party SDKs and services.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent proven professional experience.

Willingness and ability to participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation and incident response.

Additional Information

This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.

The base salary range for this position is $136,000 - $204,000 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
