About the TeamHowmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

Position Overview:
The Engineering Intern effectively assists Manufacturing Management with various productivity initiatives and special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work together with floor personnel to gather samples and discover methods to improve tool quality and efficiency.
- Create work instructions where needed.
- Manage and organize multiple priorities.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Participate in kaizens and continuous improvement initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Coursework towards Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering.
- Junior or Senior standing preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office ' Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint).
- Knowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes.
- Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
