Spectacles is the newest member of Snap Inc to bring Snapchat to create fun new ways to express yourself with AR / MR for form factors beyond the phone. The Spectacles team works on vast technology space from Mobile clients, Embedded Systems, Cloud Services, IoT, Automation, Robotics, and Computer Vision.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join Team Spectacles! Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters, you’ll be tasked with interesting technical challenges, including designing and deploying infrastructure to handle the scale of a product used and loved by millions every day!
What you'll do:
Build / maintain large scale cloud services , automation and data pipelines
Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of every decision for scale and reliability
Build and innovate on testing methodologies with Robotics, data collection and reporting
Automate mobile platforms / hardware / firmware platforms at a large scale
Make data driven decisions for infrastructure scaling and optimizations
Collaborate and work well with a cross-functional team of Mobile , Embedded and Computer vision, and Snap backend infrastructure teams
Perform code reviews and ensure high code quality — all while iterating quickly
Build robust, lasting, and scalable products
What we're looking for:
3+ YoE in building building distributed systems, and cloud services
Strong programming skills in (Python, Java, C++, or C)
Someone who gets excited by tough technical challenges and a penchant for high SRE principles
Experience in building, analysing and troubleshooting large scale systems
Experience building automation frameworks, pipelines and harnesses
Exposure to AR centric products
Excellent verbal and written communications
Attention to detail
