Director, Technology Strategy

We’re looking for a Director of Technology Strategy who will work cross functionally across the organization, as well as with creative, brand, startup, investor, activist, and academic communities to shape our technology strategy and launch programs to ensure our products, partners, and ecosystem are creating a future that is fair, equitable, and diverse.
What you’ll do:
Work with team leaders across the technology organization to strategize our roadmap with an emphasis on ensuring products, features, and partnerships are designed for our global, diverse Snapchat audience.
Work with CTO across various initiatives in developing, articulating, and implementing strategy, with a particular emphasis on, but not limited to, how technology impacts diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Trust & Safety, Marketing, Communications, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and more.
Devise and launch programs with creative communities that showcase the potential and power of the Snapchat platform.
Cultivate the ecosystem around Augmented Reality by developing deeper relationships across the creative, startup, investor, and advocacy communities to gather feedback, share information, and better support the participants in the community.
Work with Snapchat’s partnerships team to identify potential partners and bring them onto the platform.
Work with CTO to ensure features, distribution, and monetization strategies are designed to be equitable and inclusive.
Identify new opportunities to educate and support the next generation of creators, particularly amongst underrepresented communities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to seamlessly navigate creative, business, startup, advocacy, and technical communities and conversations.
Experience cultivating relationships and creating ecosystems around platforms.
Demonstrated track record of creating and fostering diverse, equitable, and inclusive environments - whether that’s through company culture, hiring, investments, platform development, partnerships or more.
Demonstrated understanding of how technology can positively and negatively impact diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Ability to work effectively both independently as well as through influence and collaboration.
Proven ability to sell and evangelize to creators, partners, founders, and investors.
Ability to quickly establish trusted relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external partners
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience
15+ years of professional experience
Hands on experience in one or more of the following areas: storytelling, product, business development, diversity and inclusion, technology, investing, entrepreneurship
Preferred Qualifications:
Existing relationships in one or more of the following industries: digital media, entertainment, augmented reality, venture capital, nonprofits focused on civil rights, social justice, and equality
Experience building ecosystems, developer platforms, and executing collaborations
Broad industry networks in entertainment, art, technology, entrepreneurship, investor, and advocacy communities
