We're looking for a Component Technology Engineer to join the Snap Lab team!
What you’ll do:
Design, prototype, analyze, and launch a variety of exciting new products
Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams on component requirements
Lead development of components with external vendors
Design and develop prototypes of new technologies and systems for cross functional development
Investigate new materials, manufacturing technologies and processes and design methodologies to reduce size and weight of custom components
Drive all phases of product development from concept to mass production of new technologies and components
Create detailed design models and documentation for production
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D documentation (NX experience preferred)
Ability to apply engineering principles to identify problems and implement corrective actions
Knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing methods including prototyping, process development, and mass production
Strong project management skills
Excellent process development and documentation skills
Great interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across groups
Good communication skills—written, verbal, and presentations
BS/BA degree in a related technical field or equivalent years of experience
3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
Experience with opto mechanical and electro mechanical component development (e.g. cameras, displays, batteries, etc.)
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
Product design, architecture, tolerance analysis, or structural analysis experience
Experience solving problems at suppliers and in factory
Experience with consumer electronics
Experience leading cross functional teams
Experience leading vendor engagement and overseas manufacturing
