We're looking for an Antenna Engineer to join the Snap Lab team!
What you’ll do:
Optimize the radiation performance of wireless portable devices that lead to exciting launches of hardware at Snap
Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and industrial design teams
Design antenna systems and conduct radiation performance measurements
Develop test plans, execute antenna measurements, and generate validation reports
Provide RF level feedback to mechanical and electrical/RF engineers to optimize the antenna performance in products
Prototype antenna strategies for new product concepts
Author clear and comprehensive documentation
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Understanding of PCB design and associated RF level constraints
Ability to impedance match antenna systems and solder small components such as 0201s and 01005s.
Strong deductive reasoning, working knowledge of radiation performance, and theoretical background of wave propagation
Phenomenal interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across groups
Excellent process development and documentation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of wireless communication standards including WiFi, BT, BLE, GPS, 4G LTE, 5G, etc
Minimum Qualifications:
BS degree in related field such as electrical engineering or equivalent years of experience
7+ years of experience in RF or electrical engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in radio frequency engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
Experience design antennas for different wireless communication systems such as GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA/LTE, 802.11, Bluetooth, GPS, etc. including the corresponding system level specifications (e.g. ETSI 51.010, 51.05…) to instantly contribute to designs
Experience with regulatory processes for wireless consumer devices, including FCC, PTCRB, CTIA, ETSI, TIA/EIA, etc
Experience using simulation tools such as XFDTD, CST and HFSS
A passion for Snapchat and creativity!
