Northrop Grumman is looking for you to join our team as an Embedded Software Engineer or Principal Embedded Software Engineer in McClellan, CA.
What You'll Get to Do:
As an Engineer of Embedded Software you will design, develop, operate and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements. Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, aircraft flight control and display systems, pacemakers, defibrillators, mechanical and electrical systems. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users and other technical and support personnel.
Basic Qualifications for Embedded Software Engineer:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related experience
- Must be a US Citizen in order to meet the security clearance requirement
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company
- Experience with Agile, Git, GitLab, or Bitbucket and working in cross-functional Scrum team
- Object Oriented Software Design and Common Design Patterns
- Data Structures and Memory Mapping
- Experience in software development using languages such as Embedded C/C++, Python, Docker

- Must be a US Citizen in order to meet the security clearance requirement
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company

Preferred Qualifications:
- Current and active Secret security clearance with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.
- Real-Time Operating Systems & Green Hills:
- Green Hills INTEGRITY RTOS: Experience with INTEGRITY-178, including task management, partitioning, and resource allocation.
- Green Hills MULTI IDE: Experience with MULTI IDE for debugging, tracing, and profiling on target hardware.
- Understanding of RMS scheduling for RTOS

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $171,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
