Position Overview

Hi-Altitude Brands is seeking an Email Marketing/SMS Manager to execute lifecycle programs for our flagship brand, Stonehenge Health, and future brands under the Hi-Altitude portfolio of health-forward lifestyle brands. Through science-backed, thoughtfully formulated products, Stonehenge Health supports elevated wellness routines that help people feel their best, so they can fully enjoy life’s meaningful moments.

Ownership includes day-to-day execution of campaigns, automated flows, segmentation, and deployment across email and SMS. Hi-Altitude Brands has built a successful DTC business through disciplined performance marketing, and lifecycle is a primary revenue lever. The Email/SMS Marketing Manager turns lifecycle strategy into shipped programs that drive retention, subscription growth, and customer lifetime value.

Precision is everything. This position demands obsessive attention to detail, rigorous procedural QA, and zero-defect execution. Every send reaches a large, engaged customer base where errors compound quickly across deliverability, revenue, and brand trust.

This position reports to the Director of Lifecycle.

Requirements

Campaign and Flow Execution

  • Build, QA, and deploy email and SMS campaigns in Klaviyo against the lifecycle roadmap set by the Director of Lifecycle
  • Build and maintain automated flows, including welcome, post-purchase, replenishment, win-back, browse abandonment, cart abandonment, and review request
  • Manage send schedules and calendar coordination across promotional, lifecycle, and transactional sends
  • Build dynamic content and personalization that adapts based on customer attributes
  • Execute against subscription milestones in coordination with Recharge and Shopify Plus events
  • Develop and optimize on-site lead capture and subscriber acquisition flows, including pop-ups, post-purchase opt-ins, and incentive structures that grow the email and SMS list while protecting deliverability

Segmentation and Targeting

  • Build and maintain customer segments based on behavioral, transactional, and subscription attributes
  • Apply segmentation logic to maximize relevance and minimize over-mailing
  • Manage tag and customer property structures inside Klaviyo to support segmentation
  • Partner with the Director of Lifecycle on cohort definitions and audience strategy

Deliverability, QA, and Hygiene

  • Own inbox placement, sender reputation, and deliverability monitoring
  • Maintain list hygiene, including bounce management, unsubscribe handling, and re-engagement protocols
  • Own and maintain a documented pre-send QA checklist applied to every campaign and flow, including rendering tests, link checks, personalization validation, segmentation review, and audience size confirmation
  • Ensure compliance with FTC, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and SMS regulatory requirements

Platform Administration

  • Serve as Klaviyo platform administrator, including user management, integration health, and platform-wide configuration
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Klaviyo and integration issues raised by CX, ecommerce, and other teams
  • Maintain technical documentation for flow architecture, segment logic, and integration mappings

Data Integrity, Testing, and Reporting

  • Reconcile data across Klaviyo, Recharge, Shopify Plus, and Northbeam to ensure reporting accuracy
  • Own the accuracy of all campaign and flow performance metrics surfaced to the Director of Lifecycle and the broader org
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between platform-level data and overall reporting
  • Execute A/B tests defined by the Director of Lifecycle (subject lines, send times, content, offers)

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Report to the Director of Lifecycle and execute against the lifecycle strategy and roadmap
  • Partner with the Copy Director and copy team on copy briefs, revisions, and final approvals before sending
  • Coordinate with the ecommerce team on subscription, promotional, and post-purchase touchpoints
  • Coordinate with the CX team on customer communication that spans transactional and lifecycle messaging

What Success Looks Like

  • Execution-driven; takes pride in shipping clean, on-time, error-free programs
  • Compulsively detail-oriented; builds and follows documented QA processes because errors compound at scale
  • Data-fluent; reads performance reports and surfaces optimization opportunities
  • Data-rigorous; treats reporting accuracy and reconciliation as core craft, not afterthought
  • Strong collaborator who can partner effectively with strategy, copy, and ecommerce functions
  • Excels in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with the ability to pivot quickly, manage shifting priorities, and execute against an aggressive lifecycle marketing calendar
  • Thrives in a remote-first environment with a lean leadership structure

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years executing email and SMS marketing programs at DTC consumer brands, ideally in health, wellness, beauty, or consumables
  • Deep hands-on Klaviyo expertise, including advanced flow architecture, dynamic segmentation, deliverability optimization, A/B testing, and performance analytics
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify Plus and Recharge in a subscription DTC context
  • Proficient with HTML and CSS for email template customization and rendering troubleshooting
  • Power user of Excel, Google Sheets, and AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, or comparable) for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Demonstrated procedural QA discipline (documented checklists, defined process, not just personal carefulness) with a track record of clean execution and zero major send errors at scale
  • Hands-on experience reconciling data across email, subscription, ecommerce, and attribution platforms to deliver reporting that leadership can trust
  • Solid understanding of compliance for email and SMS marketing (FTC, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, GDPR)
  • Comfortable working independently against a roadmap while staying tightly aligned with a strategic leader
  • Remote-first mindset with strong written communication

Preferred

  • Experience operating in a subscription DTC business model
  • Located within driving distance of Los Angeles, CA

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
