Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a RF Engineer - Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior to join our team in El Segundo, California. In this role you will design, develop, and deliver state-of-the-art RF systems for space-based applications for commercial, civil and/or national security programs. You will be a part of a highly motivated team that works with domestic or international customers on their latest satellite systems.
Be a part of an RF engineering team that works on the design, development, qualification, and delivery of antenna microwave hardware. In this role you will work with a large cross-functional team, including customers, suppliers, hardware and software engineers, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists to ensure that delivered products meet the mission objectives. You will perform RF analyses for antenna and passive microwave devices, work with systems engineers and suppliers to verify subsystem and unit requirements and compliance, and support manufacturing integration and test to validate hardware performance. You will become the focal point for your area of responsibility!
Project assignments typically span the complete program life cycle: from system architecture, internal trades, concept studies and system definition, to satellite development, launch, and on-orbit operations and test. This is a 1st shift position.

In this position a successful RF Engineer will:
- Research, design, develop, integrate, and review antenna and passive microwave designs, working with multiple engineering functions to meet system performance requirements.
- Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects, and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
- Work with systems engineers, program managers, and external suppliers to evaluate, qualify, and deliver PMD hardware to meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Define and conduct tests to validate performance of RF designs to requirements. Use analytical tools to verify the design. Specify requirements for hardware, instruments and specialized test equipment as required to meet test objectives.
- Develop complex test plans to identify test approach, resources, schedules and cost estimates that meet applicable requirements, standards and regulations.
- Manage appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.
- Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle by developing root-cause analysis of anomalies and other engineering support as requested.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM field.
- Level 2: Typically, 2 years or more of work related experience
- Hands-on RF (radio frequency) test and development experience
- Education/training or work experience with passive microwave device design and characteristics (filters, switches, circulators, etc)
- Experience with HFSS, CST, MATLAB, Python, and/or Labview
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Master's degree preferred.
- Level 3: Typically, 5 years or more of work related experience
- Level 4: Typically, 9 years or more of work related experience
- Lab or manufacturing environment experience, with preference to RF hardware design and test experience and knowledge of test equipment (VNA/PNA/Spectrum Analyzer/Oscilloscope/etc)
- Experience with design and execution of specialized RF tests (e.g. corona, multipactor) and/or complex environmental testing (e.g. RF performance through dynamic environments, thermal PIM)
- Experience in custom tool development and/or machine learning tool development
- Knowledge of good manufacturing practices, DFMAT, and design and process FMEAs
- Experience working with suppliers on custom part procurement
- Knowledge of hardware manufacturing techniques including but not limited to additive manufacturing, wire and sinker EDM, electroplating and electroforming.
- Track record of success working in teams
