Boeing is seeking to hire TWO high performing Electrical, Electronics, Systems Engineering Manager to join this talented and fast paced team, reporting to the Senior Manager for Avionics & Cabin Systems in Long Beach, California.
The managers will lead and inspire a group of employees performing engineering, technical, and regulatory tasks that provide engineering solutions for:
  • Boeing Global Services commercial modifications business units leading the cabin systems team.
  • The second position will be leading the avionics systems team working on multiple Boeing Commercial Airplane Production/Development Programs, including 777-9/8F, 737-7/10, 787, 767-2C, as well as Out of Production Programs.

The position includes responsibility for developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures, setting operational goals for the team, and acquiring technical resources. This role includes a significant level of mentoring, developing, and motivating direct reports.
In addition to managing current work statement, this position will grow the capability and capacity of the team by building a talent pipeline, knowledge management, and networking with international partners.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical tasks in Avionics/Cabin Systems engineering.
  • Supports a variety of Boeing products, including the 737, 747, 767, 777, and 787 products.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.
  • Coordinates engagement with BCA and BGS engineering counterparts located in Puget Sound, Seal Beach, and international partners.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, including budget and staffing.
  • Provides technical and project oversight of suppliers.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Provides oversight and approval of approaches to compliance with regulatory requirements and certification processes.
  • Leads and fosters process improvements, and inspire the team forward on their Lean Journey
  • Develops and maintains a culture of seeking to understand, courage to speak up, active listening and servant leadership to manage, develop, and motivate employees.
  • Exhibits agility in responding to dynamic environments and ensures clear, efficient communication of policy or guidance changes to maintain organizational alignment.
  • Finds solutions and leverages opportunities to mitigate schedule challenges and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Maintains consistent one-on-one interactions with employees to provide guidance, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Promotes continuous flow and quality improvements while leading by example to inspire and motivate the team

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Knowledge and experience of Electrical and/or Electronic Systems engineering
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English
  • 1+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams
  • 5+ years of experience working on either electrical or electronic airplane components or systems
  • Willing to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
  • 5+ years of Prior experience in the development, integration, and verification of electrical or electronic systems
  • Prior experience in management or leadership role
  • Master's Degree in an engineering related field or Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience with or a desire to learn Agile project management methods
  • Experience working within a regulated industry
  • Knowledge of FAA Regulations
  • Experience supporting aircraft production, development, and/or sustainment program(s)
  • Experience with Commercial Engineering, Mods and Maintenance (EMM) products

Summary pay range: $151,300 - $204,700
