About the Team:
The EHS team carries a profound responsibility to keep people and the environments where we operate safe while we build the future. At this stage in Relativity’s trajectory, you'll have the rare opportunity to shape how EHS is embedded in every process and decision, from the factory floor to the launch pad. We have a voice at every level, and we use it to build a culture where EHS isn’t just about compliance, but rather a shared responsibility amongst all employees.
About the Role:
- Deliver scheduled EHS training courses at Long Beach facilities, including classroom instruction and hands-on practical assessments for courses such as Aerial Lift, Forklift, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Crane & Rigging, LOTO, and other role-specific safety training.
- Develop new training content and materials in response to operational needs, regulatory changes, and emerging hazards, working with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and effectiveness.
- Maintain training scheduling, enrollment management, and completion tracking to ensure employees receive required training within compliance timelines and operational needs.
- Coordinate with the site EHS team, operations leadership, and hiring managers to identify training needs, schedule sessions, and ensure adequate training capacity for onboarding and ongoing compliance requirements.
- Act as a visible EHS resource, modeling safety best practices and addressing training-related questions or gaps identified during daily operations.
- Perform routine pre- and post-training inspections on all specialized safety equipment, rigging gear, harnesses, and training mock-ups to ensure everything is safe, compliant, and ready for hands-on instruction.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Education, or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience delivering EHS training in manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and training requirements, including hands-on practical assessment methodologies for equipment operations and safety procedures.
- Demonstrated experience developing training curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments for technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience operating overhead/gantry cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial/boom lifts.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training record management.
Nice to Have:
- Professional certifications: CSP, CHST, CUSA (Certified Utility Safety Administrator), or OSHA 500/501 Trainer.
- NCCCO- or NCCER-certified crane and/or rigging trainer.
- Instructional design certifications or formal train-the-trainer credentials.
- Aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing training experience.
