We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Specialist to support multiple sites in Hawthorne, California. The EHS Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining and promoting a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. This position will work closely with site leadership, manufacturing teams, and the corporate EHS team to implement programs that protect employees, ensure regulatory compliance, and support operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Support all EHS activities at the Hawthorne site, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures, including employee training.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns; prepare reports; and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain environmental compliance, including chemical management, waste handling, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Operations teams to provide proactive safety support during build, test, and flight activities.
- Track EHS metrics and KPIs, and support reporting to leadership on compliance, risk, and safety performance.
- Assist with emergency response planning and drills.
- Serve as a resource for employees on safety, health, and environmental concerns.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and train employees at all levels.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and investigations.
- Ability to support operations across multiple sites as needed.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CHMM, or CIH are a plus.
