As an EHS Specialist at our Modesto, CA site, you will play a key role in strengthening our culture of safety and environmental stewardship. You will collaborate closely with operations, logistics and leadership teams to ensure the site operates safely, sustainably and in full compliance with regulatory and internal EHS requirements. Essential Job Functions

  • Support, update and develop EHS programs in alignment with Cal/OSHA, state requirements and Arxada standards.
  • Review operational documents and facility changes to ensure compliance and safe execution.
  • Maintain OSHA recordkeeping, including medical surveillance records, form 300, employee training records and key regulatory documentation.
  • Provide technical support in hazard recognition, risk management and behavior‑based safety practices; participate in Process Hazard Analysis for new and modified processes.
  • Conduct daily site audits, critical permit system audits and drive corrective action to strengthen compliance.
  • Support environmental programs including air emissions, hazardous waste, universal waste, recycling, hazardous materials security, stormwater and spill prevention plans.
  • Deliver safety and environmental training to employees and contractors and support emergency response readiness.
  • Champion continuous improvement by proactively identifying risks, recommending solutions and driving actions that go beyond compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s in Environmental, Safety, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 0–4 years of experience in safety and environmental compliance within a manufacturing environment; experience in chemical handling is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of CalEPA/CalOSHA regulations and ability to respond effectively in emergency situations (chemical, fire, medical).
  • Strong communication, training and organizational skills to engage teams and influence safe behaviors.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

The expected salary range for this role is 58-85,000 annually but specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job‑related, non‑discriminatory factors permitted by law.

This role is also eligible to earn a short‑term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.
