Job Summary & Responsibilities

Raymond West is looking for a dedicated EHS Administrator to join our team! The EHS Administrator supports the development, implementation, and administration of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. This role coordinates EHS activities, maintains regulatory and program records, supports incident reporting and investigation processes, and monitors compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

 

The position is responsible for administering and overseeing Workers' Compensation claims management, including injury reporting, claim documentation, case tracking, coordination with employees, medical providers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators, and ensuring timely resolution of claims. Additionally, the EHS Administrator facilitates the Return-to-Work and transitional duty program activities, facilitating the safe and effective reintegration of employees following occupational injuries or illnesses.

 

Through data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration, this role supports continuous improvement initiatives that reduce risk, improve employee well-being, and strengthen organizational safety performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities will vary with the specific position. Typical responsibilities are listed below. This list is not inclusive.   

  • Conduct hazard identification reviews and support the revision and continuous improvement of existing EHS policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Track workplace incidents, analyze data trends, and prepare reports to support proactive safety initiatives.
  • Administer and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring updates are completed and communicated as needed.
  • Maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of sensitive employees, medical, workers' compensation, safety, and business information in compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development and delivery of EHS training programs to ensure compliance and employee awareness.
  • Perform safety inspections and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Partner with managers and safety committees to support safety initiatives and reinforce compliance with EHS standards.
  • Support the submission and maintenance of employee safety training records into training department to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and oversee chemical inventory documentation and compliance.
  • Consult with the EHS Manager regarding safety policies, procedures, and compliance matters.
  • Maintain Experience Modification Rate (EMR) data and OSHA logs/records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally departments as relevant to support safety compliance and operational objectives.
  • Conduct New Hire Safety Orientation
  • Support EHS departmental meetings by preparing agendas, documenting and acknowledging meeting minutes, and tracking follow-up actions to ensure timely communication and accountability.
  • Collect, maintain, and submit required environmental data to support corporate compliance objectives, regulatory reporting requirements, and sustainability initiatives in a timely and accurate manner.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as this role will require communication via telephone, live/virtual meeting, and in writing
  • Excellent Organizational Time Management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite and similar software  
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals or similar.  
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departments
  • Must be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required
  • Broad understanding and experience in company operations and Safety requirements
  • Self-Starter, results-driven with ability to take initiatives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical reasoning skills.
  • Possess superior typing ability. Accuracy is essential.
  • Present a clean, neat appearance, mature and responsible.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy work area.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedules as needed.
  • Maintain a professional attitude in all matters.
  • Willing and able to learn quickly and perform accurately with a degree of flexibility.

Education/Experience: 

Minimum Education and Experience: Determined by position  

  • Associate degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and three (3) years of related experience; or
  • High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience supporting Environmental, Health & Safety programs, Workers' Compensation administration, regulatory compliance, or related functions.
  • Experience working within warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or other industrial environments preferred.

Travel Requirement: 

  • Up to 10% travel may be required to support company locations, conduct safety inspections, attend meetings, participate in training, investigate incidents, and support EHS program implementation.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required for training, meetings, or special projects.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy.

  • Ability to travel throughout facilities, including walking long distances within warehouses and operational areas.
  • Ability to climb stairs, and access elevated work areas as necessary for inspections and evaluations.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform visual observations during workplace assessments.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds and, infrequently, up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through virtual meeting platforms.
  • Ability to observe workplace conditions, identify hazards, review documentation, and respond appropriately to safety-related situations.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, dust, moving mechanical equipment, and other conditions commonly found in warehouse and industrial settings while utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, high-visibility garments, and other protective equipment as required.
  • Ability to obtain CPR, AED certification within 1st year of employment.

Pay Range:

  • The hourly range for this position is $31.42 - $51.43. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. 

Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
