Job Description

The main purpose of garage assistant is to document labor time studies, moved and clean vehicles, and keep the shop clean and organized.

The successful applicant must be based in the US in the LA County or Orange County area

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Document labor time studies and create a final report based on findings,
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment,
  • Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting,
  • Locate and receive shipment of parts,
  • Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization,
  • Normal 5 S standards - Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain,
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment; help clean shop,
  • Locate, move, and wash vehicles as needed,
  • Assist with any tasks as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Job requires analysing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Knowledge Retention - In order to provide the highest quality support to customers, processors must. be able to learn and memorize a large amount of information.
  • Detail Oriented – The employee must be able to focus on the details of the conversation narrative in order to identify and isolate the real issue. Effective speaking and listening is critical.
  • Organizational skills – The employee must be able to handle multiple tasks at once while attending to the customer’s needs.
  • Customer service focused - Must have the ability to stay calm in difficult situations. Must be able to gain and maintain control of customer conversations while providing world class customer service,
  • Speed - Must be fast and efficient. Must be able to work quickly without sacrificing the quality of their work.
  • Solutions oriented - Must be able to find workable solutions for any problems they might face.
  • Process-driven with strong problem-solving and investigative abilities.
  • High level of computer literacy and ability to learn new systems.
  • Clean driving record and employment background.
  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.
  • Microsoft Office 365 proficiency especially Outlook and basic Excel skills.
  • Proficient typing skills.
  • DMS experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Organizational skills (e.g., time management, scheduling, prioritizing, efficiency).
  • Able to work and function in an automotive shop environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to understand complex information and assess requirements,
  • Ability to work independently with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams,
  • Ability to work on given objectives,
  • Excellent communicator and people motivation skills,
  • Travel requirement is as needed.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate may not have been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At MSXi, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $23-26/per hour based on current experience.
