Turion Space is building the autonomous infrastructure to operate and defend the in-space economy. We are looking for a Director of Marketing who will own Turion’s brand narrative, drive growth across digital and physical channels, and build the team that defines how the world sees and experiences our company.
You’ll lead both creative and marketing strategy from storytelling and content to product positioning, demand generation, and corporate communications. This role blends hands-on creative leadership with strategic marketing execution to build visibility, fuel hiring, support fundraising, and generate commercial leads.
This position is full-time and on-site at our HQ in Irvine, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Turion’s brand and marketing strategy, shaping our visual identity, narrative, and voice across all channels.
Oversee and grow the Creative Department, managing designers, content creators, vendors, and contractors while maintaining a high bar for quality and consistency.
Develop and execute product and demand-generation marketing campaigns that drive awareness and customer engagement for Turion’s spacecraft and technology portfolio.
Own corporate communications and media relations, building trusted relationships with press, partners, and industry influencers to shape perception and protect brand reputation.
Plan and manage multi-channel marketing initiatives across social media, web, video, events, and paid media to reach investors, government stakeholders, customers, and candidates.
Define and expand audience reach on key platforms (LinkedIn, X, YouTube, company blog) through strategic content and community engagement.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Business Development, and Executive teams to translate complex technology into compelling narratives and market positioning.
Build and mentor a high-performing team, identifying gaps, hiring exceptional talent, and fostering a collaborative creative culture.
Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize impact and ROI.
Measure and optimize campaign performance, using data-driven insights to refine strategy and scale what works.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
8 Years of experience in marketing, communications, or brand leadership, including at least 3 years in a management role.
Proven track record building or scaling brand presence for a high-tech, aerospace, or frontier-technology company.
Experience developing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels: digital, paid, and experiential.
Strong creative sensibility and storytelling ability; able to direct design, video, and written content production.
Hands-on experience with product or B2B marketing, including go-to-market strategy and lead generation.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and collaborate across teams.
Analytical mindset with experience using metrics and insights to inform marketing decisions.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
The ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret or Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience taking a company through a major growth phase or funding round.
Familiarity with government or aerospace communications landscapes.
Existing media, press, or creator network in technology, defense, or space sectors.
Creator skills: Design, writing, editing, or content production.
Director of Marketing: $150,000 - $230,000
