Job Summary:
Create graphics of all kinds and prepare photos that inform and engage Investor's Business Daily customers and other readers, both in print and on the web.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Create charts, tables, graphs and interactives to accompany articles or other content on the Investors.com website and IBD Weekly newspaper. Assignments will include both breaking news and longer-term projects.
Select and edit photos to accompany IBD content.
Collaborate with reporters, editors and other visual journalists to generate ideas and plan future content.
Help develop new ways to effectively present data in articles, particularly on digital platforms.
May create illustrations or work with illustrators to create unique art for IBD, in particular for the cover of the IBD Weekly.
May have a role in print design and weekly print layout duties.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
At least two years of experience creating data charts and tables for digital platforms and print.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or relevant experience.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign; Excel and Word.
Proficient in photo editing and retouching.
Good knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Good knowledge of responsive web design and best practices for creating art for mobile viewing.
Well-versed in typography.
Team-oriented and strong multitasking skills.
A healthy interest in the stock market, business and investing.
Experience in publication page design and cover illustration would be a plus.
