We are currently hiring for a Director/VP of Sales who will focus primarily on engaging and securing new business contracts with insurance carriers in the U.S. and Canada as well as sales to large claims companies.  Reporting directly to the CEO, the person will be expected to engage with prospect companies, identify and establish alignment between Plnar’s solutions and customer’s business drivers, and manage all aspects of sales cycles within an assigned set of accounts to successful close. Ultimately, the person will have aggressive revenue targets and help expand our market share in the InsurTech market. He/she will help high level prospective and current customers envision new and valuable solutions and how to compete in their market and translating that into a successful relationship with Plnar. Please note: Candidates who proceed to final stages will be required to provide 2-3+ years of verifiable sales track record (annual quota and quarter by quarter attainment numbers).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for winning a high level of new business among top tier P&C carriers and upsell into existing accounts
  • Responsible for selling into large adjusting, mitigation and claims services companies
  • Acts in the capacity of the sales expert and business fiduciary for the team and supports the Senior Leadership in on issues that impact design/selling success or address future concepts, products or technologies.
  • Builds and leverages relationships with key influencers and decision makers, develop business insight into and have informed opinions on future strategies of assigned accounts. The ideal candidate recognizes that these relationships are a means to drive business, not settling on just securing a relationship.
  • Secures and leads face-to-face meetings with business leaders and decision makers including “C” level executives within our target marketplace
  • Develops, maintains, and grows an ongoing sales pipeline
  • Maintains current and accurate information on account status and sales activity in SalesForce.com
  • Manages the account development and opportunity pursuit process from initial assignment through close using Salesforce CRM
  • Accurately forecasts new bookings
  • Develops and deploys strategies for securing new accounts.
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.
  • Collaborate and strategize with marketing on lead generation campaigns
  • Collaborate with the executive team on events and conference outreach.
  • Initiate and execute on a breadth of sales strategies and outreach campaigns designed with securing contracts in mind.
  • Maintain thought leadership on sales strategies and the latest trends in the Insurance space

Requirements
  • 5-7+ years of sales experience selling software and services to the property insurance industry. 
  • Must have held and achieved $1M+ quotas year over year selling InsurTech software licenses and services
  • Must have solid knowledge of property claims/underwriting workflow and operations. Must have sold to executive levels and welcomes these types of conversations with Chief Claims Officers and others at that same level 
  • Experience working in small, nimble tech companies 
  • Efficiently use Salesforce to maintain and manage and track all sales activities.
  • Adaptability - the ability to work in an ever-changing environment is critical. Creative and strategic thinking to break into new sectors.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills are a must. 
  • Ideal qualities: curiosity, empathy, solution-finder, high integrity, high EQ/situational awareness, self-starter, solution-finder, aggressive can-do/go-getter attitude with a positive outlook
