PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $199,300.00-$243,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $155,200.00 - $288,000.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE: 

You’ll play a pivotal role in aligning technology initiatives with business goals and ensuring effective delivery and execution. You will lead enterprise network and telephony platforms across a geographically distributed, hybrid cloud environment, enabling resilient operations and scalable growth through platform modernization. 

By ensuring reliable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure, you’ll directly support business continuity and growth. Your impact will include mentoring teams, solving complex challenges, and making decisions that strengthen BECU’s technology landscape.  

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, SC, NC, CA or VA. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.  For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

  • Lead Technology Strategy: Align technology roadmaps with business priorities to deliver impactful solutions and oversee enterprise network and telephony infrastructure for availability, security, scalability and cost efficiency. 

  • Drive Platform Modernization: Advance cloud, network and telephony capabilities design and support LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, VPN, wireless, and voice systems (VoIP, CaaS SIP, call centers). Ensure designs support reliability, performance and scalability. 

  • Champion Innovation: Identify emerging technologies and lead RFPs, business cases, and project charters for strategic initiatives; drive adoption of SDN, network automation, and hybrid cloud connectivity. 

  • Mentor and Inspire: Coach and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. 

  • Advance Agile Practices: Implement and refine agile methodologies across engineering and delivery teams. 

  • Ensure Infrastructure Reliability: Minimize outages, reduce costs, and strengthen security; implement zero-trust networking, compliance (NIST, PCI, SOC2), and disaster recovery strategies. 

  • Manage Financials: Contribute to annual planning and ensure financial accountability for technology investments. 

  • Optimize Vendor Partnerships: Review contracts and manage external resources for maximum value. 

  • Measure Success: Define OKRs and KPIs to track progress and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.  

  • Typically requires 7 years of experience people leader experience. Experience leading technology teams.

  • Typically requires 8 years of information technology experience with demonstrated expertise in designing, architecting, and implementing enterprise-scale network and telephony solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability. 

  • Domain experience Infrastructure/Operations and/or financial services products (e.g., Credit Card, Mortgage, Auto Loan, Deposits). 

  • Previous work experience building technology platforms and teams.

Desired Qualifications 

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 

  • Advanced knowledge of Technology fundamentals, design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.

  • Delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology.

  • Working experience of software engineering best practices including coding standards, change management, manage incidents, CI/CD, build processes, testing, and operations. 

  • Expertise in Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Fortinet, F5, and other enterprise networking solutions. 

  • Hands-on experience with VoIP platforms (Cisco Call Manager, Microsoft Teams Voice, Zoom Phone, Avaya). 

  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking, SD-WAN, and hybrid connectivity. 

  • Practical experience with network automation, scripting, and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, NetFlow, Wireshark). 

  • Relevant networking certifications (CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, etc.). 

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale network modernizations or cloud migrations.
