Lessen is the tech-enabled, end-to-end property service provider that is transforming how commercial and residential real estate services are delivered and managed at scale. Lessen’s technology platform provides data-driven insights that unlock key growth opportunities for the entire real estate ecosystem—including investors, owners, managers, and service providers. The company leverages a network of over 30,000 vetted, qualified vendors (Lessen Affiliates) serving clients with over 1 million properties and completing more than 3.5 million work orders annually across an expanding range of services. Lessen, LLC is a venture-backed, privately held company with offices in Scottsdale and Chicago.

Lessen is seeking a consultative, highly analytical leader to help prospective clients understand the operational and financial value of a better approach to facilities management. You'll work across multiple client types and industries — partnering with sales and solution leaders throughout the sales cycle to turn discovery findings and client data into practical solutions, credible business cases, and clear executive value propositions.

This role suits someone equally comfortable in a client's day-to-day operational challenges, a detailed financial model, and a boardroom presentation to senior decision makers.

What You'll Do:

    Discovery & analysis

  • Lead discovery with prospective clients across a range of industries to understand their portfolios, facilities operations, service performance, cost structure, and business priorities.
  • Analyze work order, spend, vendor, lease responsibility, and other available data to establish a defensible baseline and identify opportunities.
  • Business case & proposal development

  • Build client-specific business cases that quantify potential value, state assumptions clearly, and distinguish measurable savings from broader operational benefits.
  • Develop proposals and executive presentations that connect Lessen's capabilities to each client's priorities.
  • Help clients evaluate value beyond price — visibility into FM cost and performance, service consistency, risk management, and time returned to local teams.
  • Sales partnership & enablement

  • Partner with sales, operations, product, and implementation teams to shape solutions Lessen can deliver.
  • Support deal strategy and participate in client meetings through evaluation, proposal, and executive review.
  • Create repeatable models, discovery tools, benchmarks, and value narratives that improve the quality and speed of future pursuits.

What You Need:

    Must-haves

  • 5+ years in management consulting, solution consulting, value consulting, corporate real estate, or facilities management.
  • Exposure to Commercial Facilities Management, spanning both hard services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building systems) and soft services (janitorial, landscaping, grounds).
  • Strong understanding of dispersed, multisite portfolios — how organizations plan, budget, and manage FM operating expenses and capital expenditures across many locations.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and the judgment to build credible business cases from incomplete or inconsistent client data.
  • Experience presenting complex findings and recommendations to executive audiences in clear, practical terms.
  • Advanced Excel and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to understand the operational outcomes needed through the client lens, and the ability to challenge the status quo for what is “best”.
  • Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales enablement — discovery frameworks, value models, proposal content, and presentations that help sales teams engage executive buyers.
  • Familiarity with BI tools or large operational datasets.
  • Exposure to healthcare, retail, or other distributed, multi-vertical portfolios.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
