The Director of Social Media will create and execute strategies for Inkitt and its media platforms, manage a team, engage pop culture, and use AI tools for content creation.
Inkitt is building the Disney of the 21st Century, standing at the forefront of technology and entertainment. Leveraging AI and predictive algorithms, Inkitt discovers unknown stories and turns them into blockbuster hits, producing a new $1M ebook every 4 weeks and selling directly to consumers through its Galatea app. Inkitt has become the 11th most bestseller-generating publisher in the world, boasting a 40x higher hit-rate than traditional publishers. Recently raising a Series C and backed by some of the top VC’s such as: Khosla, Kleiner Perkins, and NEA Ventures, our recent expansion into CandyJarTV is only the beginning of our journey to becoming the next-gen entertainment powerhouse.
What You’ll Do:
- Create and execute social media strategy for Inkitt, Galatea, and CandyJarTV.
- Create and post up to 10 multimedia content across TikTok, Instagram, and other priority social platforms!
- Manage and hire a team of social media direct reports.
- Regularly review performance, identify growth opportunities, and ensure targets are achieved.
- Deeply understand and engage with pop culture! Those cool, plugged in creators driving entertainment and cultural conversations (know how to authentically infiltrate it)!
- Foster community by engaging followers, responding to DMs/comments, and building brand loyalty.
- Obsess over the newest AI tools! Master them before everyone else and use them to create scroll stopping social content. (Fast, efficient, and always ahead of the curve!)
- Willing to travel as needed to LA at least once a month. We want you to be on set to capture fun footage to post onto our social channels.
What You'll Bring:
- 7+ years of social media marketing experience
- People management experience strongly preferred
- 📷 Camera facing (comfortable appearing in video content)
- 🌹📖 Deeply plugged into pop culture, BookTok, romance shows, and trends, with a strong record of creating viral content.
- Highly strategic, analytical, and creative. Has a strong grasp of social media KPIs and analytics along with being able to translate insights into actions.
- Skilled in content creation, editing, design with tools such as Capcut, Adobe, Canva, AI tools.
- Able to demonstrate trend driven campaigns by providing results and key learnings.
- Experienced in growing brands from launch to maturity and shaping their social identities.
- Strong enthusiasm for the Galatea stories and CandyJarTV content!
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
