About Givzey / Version2.ai

Join the Future of Autonomous Fundraising!

Givzey | Version2.ai is a fully remote, AI-native company that created the Autonomous Fundraising category in 2024, when it researched, developed, and deployed the world’s first Autonomous AI to address the labor shortage and capacity gap in nonprofit fundraising. Fundraising teams have a finite capacity to reach donors with one-to-one communication, on average leaving 97% of donors to their organization receiving only marketing communications. A labor shortage compounds the problem: even when organizations want to hire more fundraisers, they often can't find them. The result is a significant capacity gap, where teams can't reach large pools of high-potential donors, resulting in important organizations with world-changing missions being unable to fully execute on their visions.

Version2.ai's Virtual Engagement Officers (VEOs) close the labor shortage gap with each VEO independently managing a portfolio of up to 1,000 donors, delivering personalized outreach through text, email, video, and robotically handwritten notes year-round. VEOs don't just make staff more efficient; they manage donor portfolios independently, freeing human fundraisers to focus their time on the highest-value relationships while also closing transformational revenue for these organizations.

VEOs have already generated over $20M in fundraising revenue to date, including individual gifts as large as $100,000, at an opt-out rate of just 0.07%. Organizations deploying a VEO see 4x annual ROI on average, and the top 20% see 8x or higher. More than 250 VEOs are now deployed across higher education, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and Canada, including UNICEF USA, Bucknell University, Wake Forest University, and William & Mary.

Adam Martel founded Givzey four years ago and leads the company as CEO. He previously founded, scaled, and sold Gravyty, the first company to develop and sell AI-first solutions to nonprofit organizations.

About the role

Givzey (Version2.ai) is looking for a Director of Sales to serve as the VP of Sales' right hand — running the day-to-day of our Account Executive (AE) and Business Development Representative (BDR) teams so the VP can focus on strategy, executive-level forecasting, and bigger growth bets. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented frontline leadership role responsible for day-to-day management, pipeline reviews, hiring/firing, and hitting revenue targets for a team of 6–8 AEs. Part pipeline coach, part process owner, part culture-setter for the revenue team, and comfortable digging into deals and drafting emails alongside reps.

What you'll own
  • Manage and coach a team of Account Executives and Business Development Representatives: weekly 1:1s, pipeline reviews, and deal strategy sessions.
  • Own day-to-day pipeline health — inspect stages, unblock stuck deals, and flag at-risk forecast items to the VP of Sales before they become surprises.
  • Partner with the VP of Sales on territory design, quota-setting, and comp plan execution, translating strategy into weekly team priorities.
  • Ramp and ramp-coach new AEs: message/pitch rehearsal, call shadowing, and deal reviews.
  • Run the sales side of forecasting — roll up team numbers, sanity-check commit vs. best-case, and present a clean forecast to the VP.
  • Serve as the team's point of escalation on deal strategy, pricing exceptions, and cross-functional blockers (legal, security review, CS handoff).
  • Deputize for the VP of Sales in their absence — internal standups, cross-functional syncs, and select customer-facing moments.
  • Help build and refine the playbooks, templates, and enablement content the team uses every day.
What success looks like
  • 90 days: Known and trusted by every AE/BDR; has sat through a full pipeline review cycle; has a clear read on each rep's strengths, gaps, and deal risk.
  • 6 months: Team hits or beats quota attainment targets; new-rep ramp time measurably shortens; forecast accuracy improves.
  • 12 months: Has a bench of reps ready for promotion; owns a documented sales playbook; is the first person the VP brings in on a tough deal or a tough rep conversation.
What we're looking for

Required

  • 5+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, including a minimum of 2 years of frontline sales leadership directly managing a quota-carrying team (AEs and/or BDRs).
  • Background in B2B SaaS bringing process-driven leadership.
  • A track record of hitting team-level revenue targets, not just individual quota.
  • Comfortable in the detail — can run a pipeline review, coach a cold call, and build a forecast model in the same week.
  • Process-driven approach with strong CRM discipline (HubSpot preferred) and proficiency with sales metrics and pipeline management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; this person represents the sales team to the rest of the company.

Preferred

  • Experience selling into fundraising, nonprofit, healthcare, or higher-education buyers (preferred but not required).
  • Experience scaling a sales team up from single-digit headcount.
  • Familiarity with sales engagement tools (Outreach, Salesloft) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator / Recruiter.
  • Prior experience as a "deputy" or second-in-command to a sales leader.
Location

Fully remote on East Coast hours.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
