The Impact of a Director, Sales Enablement at Coupa:

The Director of Global Sales Enablement will be responsible for the strategic architecture and leadership of a high-impact enablement organization. This leader will move the function from a content-centric model to a Performance Engine, directly aligning global skilling, upskilling, and reskilling initiatives with board-level revenue objectives. You will lead a team of Senior Enablement Managers, overseeing the design and execution of role-specific learning paths that drive measurable field success.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define the multi-year enablement roadmap. Lead and mentor a team of Senior Managers to ensure global consistency in program design, building a "unified sales operating system" across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
  • Executive Partnership: Serve as an enablement liaison to the C-Suite and Revenue Leadership. Conduct high-level stakeholder reviews to align enablement outcomes with quarterly pipeline and retention goals.
  • Change Management: Drive organizational adoption of new tools and processes, ensuring that enablement initiatives are not just delivered, but integrated into the daily rhythm of the business through manager accountability.
  • Data-Driven ROI: Architect the measurement framework for the department. Transition from tracking "completion rates" to measuring "behavioral change" and "revenue impact," such as quota attainment and reduced ramp time.

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years in Enablement or L&D, with at least 3+ years specifically leading and developing a team of enablement professionals.
  • Strategic Track Record: Proven experience scaling an enablement function within a global SaaS organization during periods of significant growth or transformation.
  • Tools: The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience leveraging Highspot to architect and deliver high-impact seller learning programs that drive measurable field proficiency and performance.
  • Expert Influence: Ability to manage "active dissent" and drive cross-functional alignment across Sales, Marketing, and Product Management.
  • Methodology Mastery: Deep expertise in deploying sales methodologies.
  • Educational Foundation: Advanced understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to coach others on the "Know, Say, Show, Do" instructional design framework.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
