What You'll Do

  • Lead, manage, and scale a team of BDRs across inbound, outbound, and affiliate channels
  • Directly manage a Team Lead and collaborate with partner reps
  • Implement weekly coaching, call reviews, and skill development frameworks
  • Own performance management, career pathing, and team morale
  • Build a team of top-performing BDRs who are capable of growing into high-performing AEs

Strategy & Execution

  • Create and execute outbound business development strategies to increase pipeline generation
  • Define and continuously improve outbound motions in partnership with Demand Gen and Sales
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team on prospecting strategies and account targeting
  • Ensure account segmentation and clear alignment between BDRs and AEs
  • Analyze funnel performance and optimize based on data-driven insights

Process & Systems

  • Implement and rapidly innovate on both automated and manual outbound lead generation processes
  • Oversee lead routing, scoring, and SLA adherence in collaboration with Marketing Ops and RevOps
  • Ensure seamless handoffs from BDRs to AEs using Salesforce and other sales tools
  • Execute and follow up on campaigns, events, and direct mail plays
  • Support outbound enablement for AEs, including training, talk tracks, and messaging frameworks

Growth & Hiring

  • Act as the connective tissue between Marketing, Sales, and Revenue Ops to ensure unified GTM execution
  • Provide feedback loops between BDRs and other GTM functions to inform campaign, messaging, and targeting strategies
  • Contribute to GTM planning and reporting discussions, representing the voice of the BDR org

You’ll Be Successful in This Role if You Have/Are

  • 8+ years of experience in sales development, with 4+ years leading BDR/SDR teams
  • Proven success managing teams in a high-velocity, SaaS or AdTech environment
  • Deep understanding of outbound prospecting strategy and inbound lead workflows
  • Experience working closely with Demand Gen, Events, and Partner/Channel teams
  • Highly analytical with strong Salesforce and sales engagement tool knowledge
  • Passion for coaching, team-building, and driving results through people

You May Also Have

  • Experience in a startup, adtech or fast-scaling SaaS company
  • Familiarity with connected TV, digital media, or adtech
  • Prior exposure to account-based marketing and event-driven outreach

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
