Job Overview:

The Director of Resource Management is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing resourcing process, operational excellence, and team management within the Resource Management function. This role bridges tactical execution and strategic planning, ensuring accurate resourcing, strong cross-functional partnerships, and consistent delivery against agency revenue, utilization, and client goals.

The Director will manage and mentor Resource Management team members, serve as a key escalation point for resourcing challenges, and partner closely with Account, Project Management, and Leadership to translate business demand into actionable staffing strategies.

Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Manage resourcing of 150-200+ project team members across different accounts and engagement types
  • Model and execute resourcing of various engagement models, including retainer, fixed fee, hourly, etc.
  • Execute and oversee different types of resourcing models, including dedicated teams, fully dispersed/shared teams, freelancers, contractors, etc.
  • Accountable for supporting large scale of resourcing needs, including accounts of $10MM and above
  • Deep expertise leading resourcing for AOR and D-AOR accounts
  • Accountable for ensuring data reporting needs are met, and expertly applies findings to business impacts and recommendations.
  • Proactively addresses workflow challenges - accountable for regular analysis of processes, tools, and historical framework.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, senior management, and leadership to identify and execute Resource Management's role in delivering on business needs and optimizing productivity of the agency
  • Supports Senior Director on key agency business initiatives.
  • Expert written and verbal communication skills, including strong, effective and engaging presentations skills to larger audiences, leadership, and key partners.
  • Manage Resource Management team, owning operations, strategy, success metrics, and people management to maximize efficiency and improve processes
  • Serve as resourcing strategy subject matter expert.  Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to plan and execute agency wide revenue and business initiatives
  • Identify and monitor resourcing trends, make strategic recommendations to senior leadership and functional leads as needed to optimize resourcing and revenue continuity and growth
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to production planning team, fostering an environment of continuous professional development

  • Translate agency growth strategy and revenue goals into actionable staffing and capacity plans
  • Use data-driven insights to improve utilization, margin performance, and delivery predictability 

Industry Expertise

  • Stay current on industry best practices in resourcing, workforce planning, and agency delivery models
  • Evaluate and evolve Production Planning capabilities to meet changing business and client needs

Communication

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and leadership, creating open lines of communication
  • Communicate on behalf of the Production Planning team and agency from a strategic perspective

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 7+ years in production planning, resourcing, or workforce management
  • 5+ years in an agency environment required; pharma or life sciences strongly preferred
  • 5+ years leading teams and optimizing planning processes
  • Demonstrated strategic, analytical, and operational capabilities
  • Strong command of multiple resourcing and engagement models
  • Ability to support large-scale resourcing demands, including $10MM+ accounts/portfolios
  • Expertise overseeing resourcing for AOR and D-AOR accounts
  • Track record of guiding resourcing functions through growth, change, and organizational evolution
  • Proficiency with PSA platforms, resourcing tools, and data-driven planning methodologies (Workamajig preferred)

At CG Life, we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $115,000 - $130,000 USD and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At CG Life, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program, subject to the rules governing the plan. CG Life offers a variety of benefits, including health benefits, 401K retirement with a generous company match and immediate vesting, and flexible time off.
