Extreme Networks is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Product Marketing (Verticals) to lead strategic marketing efforts tailored to key industries, including Government, Healthcare, Hospitality, Manufacturing, and others.

This role will be pivotal in crafting and executing go-to-market strategies that highlight Extreme’s differentiated portfolio across WiFi, wired networking, data center fabric, cloud-based network management (ExtremeCloud™ IQ, Extreme Platform ONE), AI-driven networking, and security solutions to meet the unique needs of each sector.

As part of the broader Product Marketing team, you will partner closely with Product Management, Sales, Corporate Marketing, and Revenue Enablement to drive vertical-specific growth, deliver impactful messaging, and accelerate market adoption across Extreme’s global footprint.


Key Responsibilities

Vertical Market Strategy & Research

•           Conduct in-depth research on industry-specific trends, customer needs, regulatory environments, and technology adoption patterns.

•           Define vertical market priorities aligned with Extreme Networks’ growth goals.

•           Identify whitespace and competitive opportunities to differentiate Extreme’s solutions in each target sector.

Go-to-Market Planning & Execution

•           Develop and execute vertical-specific go-to-market (GTM) strategies and campaigns to drive awareness, pipeline generation, and sales acceleration.

•           Partner with the Demand Generation and Field Marketing teams to launch targeted programs including webinars, events, digital campaigns, and executive briefings.

Messaging, Positioning & Content Development

•           Create compelling, differentiated messaging and value propositions tailored to each vertical.

•           Develop industry-specific assets such as solution briefs, case studies, white papers, battlecards, RFP templates, customer & partner presentations, and explainer videos.

•           Ensure consistent communication of Extreme’s product portfolio and leadership in WiFi, wired switching, data center fabric, cloud-based network management, AI-driven insights, and built-in security across all vertical marketing materials.

Sales Enablement

•           Build and deliver industry-specific playbooks, competitive insights, and training sessions to support global sales teams.

•           Support account-based marketing (ABM) efforts and high-touch executive engagements in key vertical accounts.

•           Create ROI calculators, TCO analyses, and business case templates relevant to vertical-specific challenges.

Customer and Partner Engagement

•           Develop relationships with customers and partners within verticals to gather insights, testimonials, and use cases.

•           Support Customer Advisory Boards (CABs) and partner initiatives to align vertical needs with Extreme’s product roadmap.

Analytics & Measurement

•           Define KPIs and track performance of vertical marketing programs.

•           Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership to demonstrate program impact on pipeline, revenue, and market share.


Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

•           7+ years in Product Marketing, Solutions Marketing, or Industry Marketing, ideally within enterprise networking, cybersecurity, or IT infrastructure sectors.

•           Proven track record in launching and scaling vertical-focused programs.

Industry Knowledge:

•           Deep understanding of enterprise networking technologies, including WiFi, wired LAN, WAN, network management, security frameworks (Zero Trust, segmentation), and AI/ML applications for IT operations (AIOps).

•           Familiarity with technology challenges and buying processes specific to Government, Healthcare, Hospitality, Manufacturing, and others.

Strategic & Analytical Thinking:

•           Ability to synthesize market data, customer feedback, and competitive analysis into actionable marketing strategies.

Communication & Storytelling:

•           Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills to simplify complex technologies into clear, compelling narratives.

Collaboration:

•           Strong ability to influence and work cross-functionally across product management, engineering, sales, marketing communications, and executive teams.

Project Management:

•           Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and projects under tight deadlines.

Education:

•           Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field (MBA preferred but not required)
