Overview

Microsoft AI is the organization that makes humanist, responsible AI to empower people. We are a global network of trailblazers — Product leaders, marketers, developers, scientists, designers, and storytellers. Interconnected by curiosity and driven by possibility, we explore, experiment, and shape the future together.

The role

We’re looking for a Director of Product Marketing, Agency Growth for the Monetization team inside Microsoft AI. You’ll be an individual contributor (no direct reports) joining a team building the infrastructure and solutions to help businesses thrive in the new AI economy–including the future of digital advertising.

AI is the biggest change to how people find things on the internet since the inventions of search, mobile, and social — and it's moving faster than all three. Most people still browse and search for themselves. Many now just ask an AI assistant for recommendations. And a growing number send an agent to go do the work for them. Three versions of the web, running at once — and every business has to win in all three.

Agencies are one of the most important audiences we have. One conversation with an agency shapes hundreds of client plans. And right now, every agency in the world is being asked the same question by their clients — what do we do about AI? — and most don't yet have a confident answer.

Your job is to give them one, and to make Microsoft the partner they build it with. You'll bring our full portfolio of advertising and AI business solutions to agencies and their clients, and help them win across all three eras of the web at once.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
