Role Summary: 

To create a magical experience for our customer, we have to do a lot: create an image that is exactly what a customer dreams of, provide price and dimensions, and produce a faithful physical product — all while doing our best to make a complex and intimidating system feel simple, accessible, and human. The Director of Product Management will play a pivotal role at the company in its 0-1 journey as it redefines commerce and defines the first AI experience for many consumers worldwide.

Arcade seeks an entrepreneurial, creative, hands-on and highly experienced individual who wants to break convention and take on what others think is ‘impossible’, in order to build the future of e-commerce. Together, we will create a category-defining company - the world’s first prompt-to-product marketplace - which will take its place amongst the world’s biggest e-commerce destinations. Critical to success is keeping up pace to build moat, achieve first-mover advantage, and scale to meet what the market demands.  

The Director of Product Management will be responsible for driving the strategy, design, and build of our site experience, including the AI-driven product creation flow, shopping features (both pre-order and post-order), and maker-facing features including fulfillment and customer service functionality. This leader will ensure a best-in-class marketplace user-centric product building experience. S/he will partner closely with our engineering, design, marketing, and content production team members to prioritize and implement key functionality. The successful candidate will have had deep PM experience in building delightful and viral products, strong project management skills, superb and proactive communications skills, the ability to motivate cross-functional teams,the ability to hold their own in technical conversations, and the ability to drive detail-oriented results on time.

The role requires working in our sunny Presidio, SF office 4 days/week. 

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the company’s S-Team to develop and communicate weekly priorities
  • Define and execute product strategy that delivers a best-in-class product creation and ecommerce experience while driving innovations that set the standard for the first AI generated product company
  • Evangelize customer-centric thinking and strategies to deliver high consumer NPS and conversion to purchase 
  • Oversee e-commerce platform’s architecture, vendor selection, integrations, and site performance in partnership with the Head of Engineering 
  • Own the shopping user experience in conjunction with our Head of Design 
  • Partner with engineering team in managing sprint planning and implementation to ensure consistent, impactful releases of new features 
  • Make data-driven decisions to rapidly test and iterate on product hypotheses. Develop, monitor, and manage key commerce, SEO, social, and site metrics
  • Build tools on our Retool backend tools platform themselves: Component layout, light SQL. Ability to reach out to engineering for assistance when necessary, but largely make progress on this front without taxing engineering bandwidth
  • Project manage weekly sprints, communicating clearly and proactively with cross-functional partners

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in product management in a consumer e-commerce or social company, including previous experience at the Director level
  • Experience required in building consumer-facing features and ideally, backend commerce features - fulfillment, operations, customer service and other post-order features
  • Experience launching and scaling products with network effects and UGC driven content 
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, BigCommerce, CommerceTools, etc), and third-party applications
  • Demonstrated success in driving core commerce metrics such as NPS, conversion rates, organic traffic growth, and viral engagement 
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Sense of urgency in delivering impactful products to the consumer with uncompromising quality 
  • Experience with multi-sided marketplace companies and platforms a plus
  • Basic SQL skills required. Rudimentary Javascript skills a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with generative AI along with a growth mindset to continuously to learn about new technologies Arcade can leverage
