The summary above was generated by AI

The Infrastructure Monitoring organization at Datadog is responsible for delivering the products that give engineering teams complete visibility into the health and performance of their infrastructure — from hosts and containers to cloud-native and hybrid environments. We are looking for a Director of Product Management to lead and shape the roadmap and delivery of our Infrastructure Monitoring product capabilities at Datadog in the AI era.

In this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, product management experience, and a deep understanding of infrastructure and observability to help Datadog grow it’s leadership position in infrastructure monitoring. You will lead a team of product managers and collaborate with senior leadership in product, engineering and design.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do:

  • Own the vision and strategy for Infrastructure Monitoring products, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and customer needs. This will include managing a subset of the infrastructure product portfolio..
  • Identify new opportunities for infrastructure product innovation and drive them from concept to execution, ensuring they have a measurable impact on customers and the business.
  • Define product roadmaps and manage the prioritization of features and initiatives to ensure the team's efforts are aligned with business goals.
  • Drive AI-powered product innovation by identifying and embedding AI capabilities into the infrastructure monitoring product suite and support customers transformation with AI
  • Work closely with customers and stakeholders to deeply understand their pain points, ensuring that infrastructure monitoring solutions are delivering tangible value and solving real-world problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, data science, marketing, and sales to deliver infrastructure product solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers, helping them grow and advance their careers while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, customer-impactful features.
  • Promote a product-first mindset across the organization, ensuring that the user experience and business value are central to every product decision.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence in infrastructure product development, ensuring that Datadog remains the leader in infrastructure observability.

Who You Are:

  • Experience: You have proven experience in B2B SaaS product management, with a track record of successfully leading the development and delivery of AI-driven products and solutions.
  • Domain expertise: Deep understanding of infrastructure, cloud platforms, DevOps, or observability — you can engage credibly with customers, engineers, and architects on technical topics including cloud-native and AI architectures, Kubernetes, compute/storage/networking, and distributed systems
  • Proven leadership: Track record of building and developing high-performing PM teams; experience managing both ICs and senior PMs
  • Strategic and execution-oriented: Ability to set a long-term product vision while driving rigorous near-term execution across a complex, multi-team product area
  • Customer obsessed: You have strong instincts for understanding customer pain and translating it into product strategy that creates real value
  • Data-driven: Comfortable defining KPIs, analyzing product usage, running experiments, and making prioritization decisions under uncertainty
  • Strong communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to influence senior engineering stakeholders and align cross-functional teams — and present confidently to executives and customers
  • Collaborative and low-ego: You lead with empathy and directness, take ownership, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience at a monitoring, observability, or cloud infrastructure company
    • Background in software engineering, SRE, or platform architecture
    • Familiarity with Kubernetes, eBPF, OpenTelemetry, or cloud cost optimization
    • Experience managing a PM org through a period of rapid product or company scaling

If you're passionate about shaping the future of infrastructure observability and driving innovation at scale, we'd love to hear from you!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
