About Riverside Insights

At Riverside Insights, we believe no student should go overlooked or underserved. Our mission is to expand opportunity for all learners by building the world’s highest-performing, double-bottom-line education company. We create assessment and data solutions that help every student be seen, understood, and supported.

About ESGI

ESGI is a leading K–2 assessment solution that empowers teachers to quickly assess foundational literacy, numeracy, and early learning skills, giving them time back to teach. Loved by educators for its simplicity, joyful experience, and immediate instructional value, ESGI helps ensure our youngest learners build the skills that shape their future success.

We are now focused on growth at scale: deeper teacher engagement, stronger school and district penetration, and expanding impact. We are searching for an entrepreneurial product leader who can help us unlock that next chapter.

If you are energized by building what is next and passionate about helping every student thrive, we would love to meet you.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Director of Product who operates like a true Product GM - someone who blends sharp product intuition, strong commercial instincts, and a deep understanding of early childhood education. In this role, you will lead the full ESGI product business: owning strategy, roadmap, pricing, and execution. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Research to drive meaningful outcomes for teachers, learners, and Riverside’s growth.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that plays a central part in shaping Riverside’s next chapter.

What You’ll Do

  • Own ESGI’s multi-year growth strategy and roadmap
  • Expand adoption and retention across classrooms, schools, and districts
  • Define pricing, packaging, and positioning that maximize demand
  • Partner closely with engineering to ensure predictable delivery and technical quality
  • Support GTM excellence including launches, messaging, and adoption plays
  • Embed educator insights into product decisions
  • Pilot, measure, and scale what works
  • Build partnerships and integrations that unlock growth
  • Serve as a credible external voice with teachers and school leaders

Success Looks Like

In three years, you will have:

  • Increased ESGI revenue by 50%+ through deeper market penetration and expanded adoption
  • Strengthened product-market fit and teacher love within K–2 classrooms
  • Delivered roadmap initiatives that increase frequency of use, classroom virality, and retention
  • Built a repeatable GTM motion that boosts both school and district expansion
  • Created advocates across early learning ecosystems who help pull ESGI into new markets

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
