Job Description

About The Position:

The Director, Print Ad Sales is responsible for maintaining, growing, and selling print and related cross-platform advertising solutions for the Health & Pharmaceutical vertical. This role serves as a strategic partner to agencies and clients, developing revenue-driving programs that align advertiser objectives with brand opportunities. The role is accountable for meeting or exceeding revenue goals, growing share of market, and maximizing profitability across assigned business.
This position works closely with management and internal partners to identify new business opportunities, respond to market challenges, and develop strategic sales approaches that unlock growth with both existing and prospective advertisers. Success in this role requires strong consultative selling, polished client communication, thoughtful use of research and sales materials, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Hybrid 3x a week- New York, NY: In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Team:

The Advertising Sales team partners with agency and client stakeholders to deliver strategic print and integrated advertising solutions that connect brands with high-value audiences. The team focuses on revenue growth, market share expansion, and long-term client partnerships by combining category knowledge, consultative selling, and data-informed recommendations.

About The Position's Contributions:

80% - Revenue Generation and Account Growth: Sell advertising space and brand sponsorships across print and website offerings through direct outreach, relationship management, and consultative sales across the Health & Pharmaceutical vertical. Build and expand client and agency relationships, identify new revenue opportunities, and consistently meet or exceed sales goals while improving share of market and profitability.

10% - Sales Presentations and Market Positioning: Use visual presentations, research reports, audience insights, and other sales materials in one-on-one and group meetings to develop compelling recommendations that address advertiser objectives and market challenges.

5% - Forecasting and Sales Operations: Provide management with accurate and timely sales forecasts. Complete required reports, RFP responses, and other sales documentation with a high degree of accuracy and responsiveness.

5% - Strategic Planning and Team Contribution: Participate in strategic planning, brainstorming, and other cross-functional activities that support sales growth, market development, and continuous improvement. Complete other duties as assigned.

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Sales, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Experience:

5+ years of sales, agency, or client-facing experience, preferably within magazine or print media advertising. Experience working with luxury clients is preferred.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and align solutions to client objectives.
  • Ability to build relationships with agency and client contacts at multiple levels.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to use research, insights, and marketing programs to win business and respond effectively to RFPs.
  • Solid understanding of marketing concepts and advertising sales principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound business judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to thrive in a competitive, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

% Travel Required (Approximate): 20%

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $145,000.00 - $170,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees.
