Job Description

About the Role

ServiceNow is accelerating its transition to become the AI platform for business transformation. As we scale the pace of launches and major moments, we need a dedicated leader to help shape and deliver how our portfolio story shows up in the market.

This role sits at the center of Product, Marketing, Brand, and Communications — working across the company to define and express a coherent, differentiated story across products, releases, and key moments.

You will operate both strategically and hands-on: partnering to shape the overall narrative and directly crafting the storytelling that brings it to life — from product narratives to keynotes to major market moments. You will also lead the evolution of the Messaging Guild into a system that raises the bar for storytelling and messaging across ServiceNow.

This is not a pure content role. It is a high-leverage position focused on defining, aligning, and delivering world-class storytelling across an entire product portfolio.

What You’ll Do

Shape and align the product portfolio narrative

  • Work across Product, Marketing, Brand, and Communications to bring a clear and consistent story to how the product portfolio shows up in the market. While individual business units remain responsible for their product messaging, this role helps connect, elevate, and align those stories into a coherent portfolio narrative that compounds across launches, regions, and major moments.

Translate product innovation into compelling storytelling

  • Partner closely with product teams and product marketers to understand what we are building and where we are going. You will be close enough to product to challenge thinking, elevate ideas, sharpen positioning, and connect individual innovations to broader narrative themes, turning complex capabilities into simple, differentiated stories.

Connect launches and moments into one evolving story

  • Work closely with the Launch Office to bring clarity to individual launches and how they build over time. Rather than resetting the story at each moment, you will help define a narrative arc that compounds with time across releases, flagship events, and campaigns.

Lead strategic storytelling for major moments

  • Take a hands-on role in shaping how ServiceNow shows up in its most important moments. This includes writing and refining keynotes, executive presentations, strategic story pitches, and major market moments that define how we present to customers, analysts, and the market.

Own and scale the Messaging Guild

  • Build on the Messaging Guild and evolve it from a voluntary initiative into a formal operating model. Bring along a distributed group of contributors while setting clear standards and programs that raise the bar for messaging quality across the company.

Drive storytelling excellence across the organization

  • Act as a standard-setter for what great looks like. Through collaboration and influence, elevate the quality and consistency of storytelling across teams, ensuring we show up with clarity, confidence, and differentiation in everything we say.

Qualifications

What Success Looks Like

  • A clear, coherent portfolio story that shows up consistently across launches and major moments
  • Messaging that builds over time rather than resetting with each release
  • High-impact executive storytelling — especially keynotes and major events
  • Product teams producing stronger, more connected narratives as a result of this role’s influence
  • A scaled Messaging Guild that raises storytelling quality across the organization

What You Bring

  • Proven track record as a world-class storyteller, including keynotes, executive narratives, and major market moments
  • Deep product marketing expertise across messaging, positioning, and value proposition
  • Ability to go deep technically and translate complex innovation into simple, compelling stories
  • Strong point of view and judgment, with the ability to challenge and elevate thinking across teams
  • Exceptional collaborator and influencer across Product, Marketing, Brand, and Communications
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment, building trust and driving alignment across competing priorities
  • A hands-on mindset — equally comfortable shaping direction and doing the work

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
