Flex is building the AI-native private bank for business owners.

We’re re-architecting the entire financial system for entrepreneurs—from the first dollar a business earns to how that value compounds, moves, and is ultimately spent in real life. Banking, credit, payments, personal finance, and financial operations—rebuilt from the ground up as a single, intelligent system. Flex is the full financial home for ambitious owners.

Since launching publicly in September 2023, Flex has scaled from zero to nine-figure annualized revenue, with a clear path to profitability by late 2026. We move fast, ship relentlessly, and operate with extreme ownership.

Our customers are affluent business owners ($3–$200M in revenue)—the backbone of the economy and one of the most underserved segments in finance. They’re stuck with outdated banks and fragmented tools. We’re replacing all of it. The opportunity is massive: a ~$1T+ revenue market hiding in plain sight. Our ambition is to build a $100B+ company by delivering a product that is fundamentally better—not incrementally improved.

Flex has raised $100M+ in equity and $300M+ in debt.

- Mission-critical problems: We build software that directly controls how money moves at scale.
- High bar, low ego: Small teams, exceptional people, real ownership.
- Speed over comfort: We prioritize execution, quality, clarity, and results.
- Enduring impact: What we’re building will define how a generation of owners runs their businesses.

Team & Locations

We hire exceptional people who want to build hard things and see their work matter immediately. Roles are available in: San Francisco, Miami, New York, and fully remote.

Flex Fuels Ambition.

About The Role

Flex is looking for a hands-on Director of Performance Marketing to build and run the engine that brings qualified business owners to Flex, across both self-serve and sales-led motions.

This role is for a performance marketer who has done it before at a fast-growing company and still loves being in the details. You'll own acquisition across our digital growth surfaces, including web, SEO, paid media, creator and emerging channels like Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and partner closely with Product to turn traffic into activated, revenue-generating customers.

You'll report to the Head of Brand Marketing, manage our agency partners in search and paid media, and help build the team as we grow. It's a high-impact role for someone who thrives on experimentation, understands unit economics, and wants their work to show up in pipeline.

What You'll Do

    Growth & Demand Generation

  • Run performance marketing and digital channel execution day to day, and build a small, strong team as the channel mix proves out
  • Own paid acquisition across search, display, paid social and retargeting
  • Improve CAC, payback period and channel ROI through continuous testing and data-driven iteration
  • Partner with Sales and RevOps on ICPs, pipeline goals and campaign planning
  • Manage agency partners (SEO/GEO, paid media) to clear goals and timelines
  • Own the marketing tech stack, attribution and data flow end to end, building them where they don't exist yet
  • Self-Serve & Product-Led Growth

  • Own top-of-funnel acquisition for Flex's self-serve motion
  • Partner with Product on activation experiments, onboarding flows and conversion optimization
  • Define and report growth KPIs across acquisition, activation and revenue
  • Website & Digital Growth Surfaces

  • Treat Flex.one as a core growth surface: discoverability, performance and conversion
  • Grow organic acquisition through technical SEO, structured content and site optimization
  • Build Flex's visibility across AI discovery platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini through GEO
  • Launches & Content

  • Bring product launches to market with the brand team, with clear messaging and materials for Sales and partners
  • Turn Flex's story into high-performing content across the website, campaigns, organic, paid, email and referral channels
  • Work closely with Brand, Legal and Compliance so every claim is accurate and every disclosure is in place

Requirements

  • 8+ years in growth, digital or performance marketing, ideally in fintech or B2B SaaS
  • Experience managing people or agency teams, with a track record of building strong ones
  • Experience at a company scaling
  • Hands-on depth in SEO, paid acquisition, website optimization and modern demand generation
  • Comfort with sales-led acquisition, intent-based targeting, personalization and lifecycle triggers
  • Strong instincts grounded in research, data and customer insight
  • Clear, compelling writing and storytelling
  • Technical fluency with modern marketing and analytics tools
  • A collaborative, human-first approach, with strong values and a bias toward action

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
