Position OverviewWe are looking for an exceptional Director of Operations & Supply Chain to build and lead the operational backbone of a fast-growing consumer business.
You’ll own contract manufacturing, sourcing and procurement, demand and supply planning, and 3PL operations—building the processes and systems needed to scale efficiently and reliably. You’ll also support the company’s ERP transition and strengthen inventory accuracy, master data, and reporting.
This role sits at the center of the business, partnering closely with Product Development, Marketing, Finance & Accounting, 3PL/fulfillment, and Customer Experience. You’ll report directly to and work closely with the COO.
ResponsibilitiesSourcing & Supplier Management:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, supply continuity, and risk.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiation, qualification, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management.
- Manage contract manufacturing partners, supplier performance, cost reduction initiatives, and sourcing for new product launches.
- Monitor market and geopolitical risks to proactively identify and mitigate supply disruptions.
Procurement & Planning:
- Own procurement processes, including RFQs, purchasing, P2P workflows, and procurement KPIs.
- Lead demand and supply planning across channels, including forecasting, inventory levels, purchasing, and excess/obsolete inventory management.
- Analyze demand, lead times, landed costs, and supply trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
3PL, Logistics & Inventory:
- Manage 3PL, carrier, and freight-forwarder relationships and ensure performance against service expectations.
- Maintain inventory accuracy, landed COGS, and product/master data across systems.
- Oversee inbound and outbound inventory flow, freight, and logistics operations.
Project & Team Leadership:
- Lead cross-functional supply chain and operations projects, managing priorities, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communication.
- Establish scalable operation rhythms across planning, procurement, and resource management.
- Own the operations budget and serve as a strategic operating partner to the COO.
- Lead and develop the Supply Chain and Project Management teams.
- A reliable demand and supply planning process that improves inventory availability while reducing out-of-stocks and excess inventory.
- A strong contract manufacturing and supplier network with clear performance standards, sourcing strategies, and supply continuity plans in place.
- A strategic sourcing program delivering measurable cost savings across the vendor base.
- A consolidated demand plan and standardized planning processes across the business.
- Accurate, standardized master data and product structures ready to support the ERP transition.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of operations and supply chain leadership, ideally within high-growth consumer products, DTC, or e-commerce.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Deep experience managing contract manufacturers and suppliers, including sourcing, negotiation, pricing, performance management, and supply continuity.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing and delivering measurable cost savings.
- Strong demand and supply planning expertise, including forecasting, inventory strategy, and planning processes built from the ground up.
- Strong 3PL, fulfillment, and logistics partner management capabilities.
- Exposure to ERP implementations, systems transitions, or similar operational transformations.
- Proven people leader with strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- A genuine build mandate with the autonomy to match, at a growing brand where the work is visible and the impact is real.
- Direct partnership with the COO and a seat at the table for decisions that shape the operation.
- Fully remote, US-based, with a team that operates on ownership rather than oversight.
