ABOUT THE ROLE

Matter Health is seeking an experienced Director, Operations Reporting & Analytics to lead the reporting and analytics function that gives market, clinical, and executive teams a clear and consistent view of organizational performance.

In this role, you will own operational and clinical reporting from end to end, including KPI definition, dashboard design, data quality, reporting governance, and self-service analytics. You will partner closely with Operations, Clinical, Finance, Quality, Implementation, Data Engineering, and IT teams to translate business needs into timely, reliable, and actionable reporting solutions.

You will also play a critical role in new-market launches by ensuring each market has the dashboards, data feeds, KPI definitions, and reporting infrastructure needed to operate effectively from day one. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing and developing the current analytics team while building scalable reporting capabilities as Matter Health continues to grow.

This position is ideal for a strategic and execution-focused analytics leader who can turn complex data into clear insights, establish trusted reporting standards, and help leaders at every level make informed decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own the strategy, standards, tooling, and governance for operational and clinical reporting across all Matter Health markets

  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and scorecards that measure market, provider, Care Support, clinical, and enterprise performance

  • Establish and maintain a single source of truth for enterprise KPI definitions, calculation methodologies, metric logic, and naming conventions

  • Partner with Data Engineering and IT to define data-pipeline requirements, improve data quality, and develop scalable reporting and analytics solutions

  • Translate operational, clinical, financial, and executive business questions into clear reporting requirements and actionable insights

  • Own reporting readiness for new-market launches, including dashboards, data feeds, KPI definitions, and reporting infrastructure

  • Build self-service reporting capabilities and train market and functional leaders to use data and reporting tools effectively

  • Manage the analytics roadmap and prioritize recurring reporting needs alongside ad hoc analysis requests from executive leadership

  • Partner with Finance, Clinical Operations, Quality, and Implementation to support budgeting, forecasting, risk stratification, care-model decisions, and organizational planning

  • Establish reporting quality-control processes and resolve inconsistencies in data, metric calculations, and dashboard outputs

  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting turnaround times, data accuracy, dashboard adoption, and the end-user experience

  • Gather feedback from reporting users and incorporate that feedback into dashboard design, reporting priorities, and process improvements

  • Ensure reporting and analytics practices comply with HIPAA, data-privacy standards, and applicable healthcare requirements

  • Manage, coach, and develop analysts and reporting specialists while helping scale the team as the organization grows

  • Model Matter Health’s values of Empathy, Trust, Tenacity, Teamwork, and Curiosity

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business, statistics, health informatics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • Eight or more years of progressive experience in reporting, business intelligence, analytics, or a related function

  • Five or more years of direct people-leadership experience

  • Demonstrated success building or scaling enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities within healthcare, multi-location services, or another high-growth operating environment

  • Strong hands-on experience with business intelligence and data-visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker

  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with complex datasets

  • Experience partnering with data engineering teams on data-pipeline requirements, data models, integrations, and reporting infrastructure

  • Experience defining enterprise KPIs and establishing consistent metric logic, calculation methodologies, and reporting standards

  • Experience developing operational dashboards, executive scorecards, and self-service reporting capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for operational, clinical, and executive audiences

  • Experience managing competing priorities and balancing recurring reporting requirements with ad hoc analytical requests

  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining closely involved in hands-on reporting and analytics work

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, data privacy, and appropriate handling of healthcare information

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with healthcare quality or regulatory reporting, including CMS Star Ratings, HEDIS, or Medicaid and Medicare encounter data

  • Experience working within Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, value-based care, primary care, in-home care, or community-based care

  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, risk stratification, or care-model performance reporting

  • Experience leading reporting readiness for new markets, locations, products, or operational launches

  • Experience supporting geographically distributed or multi-market teams

  • Experience with athenaOne, Salesforce, or URSA

  • Experience building an analytics team or expanding a reporting function within a rapidly growing organization

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
