About Unity Advisory

Unity Advisory is a modern advisory business built for today's CFO, with connected solutions across finance, deals and tax. Focussed on client outcomes, seasoned experts lead every engagement, in an operating model powered by AI and free from audit conflict.

The Role

As a Director, you will lead our CFO advisory work. You will be the senior face of Unity on the engagements you lead, and the person CFOs turn to when the outcome matters most.

You will set the direction, win and grow work with our Partners, and coach the Senior Managers and Managers who run delivery day to day. You will help shape our AI-powered Office of CFO proposition. Here, your influence is felt faster and your name is on the results.

Responsibilities
  • Lead our largest finance tengagements, from first diagnostic to results the client can measure.

  • Hold the senior relationship with CFOs and their leadership teams, and become their trusted adviser well beyond one project.

  • Set the direction for future-state finance operating models and roadmaps, and present them with confidence at board level.

  • Guide the redesign of core finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C and FP&A), keeping solutions practical and built to last.

  • Oversee cloud ERP and EPM implementations, automation, data platforms and AI-enabled analytics.

  • Own the commercials of your engagements: scope, fees, margin, resourcing and risk.

  • Bring in new work. Lead proposals and pitches, and grow existing clients alongside our Partners.

  • Help build our Office of CFO proposition, thought leadership and go-to-market approach.

  • Coach and develop Senior Managers and Managers, and take an active part in their progression.

  • Play a real part in hiring and building the team as we grow.

What you'll bring
  • 12+ years experience with significant time in a consulting or advisory environment.

  • Hands-on experience with AI and the latest tools and approaches, and the curiosity to try new ones on client work.

  • A record of leading large, complex transformation programmes from diagnostic through to lasting adoption.

  • Credibility with CFOs and C-suite leaders, and a track record of winning and growing client work.

  • Deep expertise in ERP and EPM platforms, process redesign, operating model design, and data and analytics.

  • A record of designing and delivering tech-enabled finance solutions, such as automation, data platforms and AI-enabled analytics.

  • Proven ability to lead and develop senior teams, including managing performance and supporting progression.

  • Commercial judgement: pricing, proposals, delivery margin and client growth.

  • A finance or accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA.

Work Environment

A truly hybrid and flexible working environment. We offer the opportunity to be at the forefront of AI-driven advisory services. You'll be working on cutting-edge projects and encouraged to deploy the latest analytical tools and approaches.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
